I watch this movie multiple time a year, especially in december, it's honestly one of my favourite animation movie, the characters have so much personnality, I remember watching it as a kid with sparkles in my eyes, and that I can still appreciate it as much as a adult is just magical.
I love this movie so much, the soundtrack, the visuals, the finding yourself arc, it gets me every time. I make everyone rewatch it every easter bc it IS an easter movie lmao
I think the writers just never knew how it is to be poor. They just didn't even consider Sam not being able to get a job or not finding a good home. You can see the same in many other movies. Also Wolfwalkers is absolutely amazing, and it's an Irish film (which is where I'm from)
I have no words for this movie .It did not twist my heart and give me the feeling i have always felt after a animated movie .Wish was not that good .I wish they thought all this through .MAn i didnot even remember the villans name,Aishas friends and the main chatacter s name .Thats how forgettable it was .On top of that THEY HAD A KINDOM SYMBOL .like tangled but it was barely noticeble .💀I am at lost for words .What happend here.
Wish was written by ai. No one will convince me otherwise. That is why it is soulless and slightly nonsensical. Disney was testing having an ai written movie and thank god everyone hated it. that "songwriter" probably didnt write a single word of those songs
I FORGOT THE NAME OF THE MOVIE WITH THE DRAGON THAT TURNS INTO A "HUMAN" (or like a human form i should say) AND IS LOOKING FOR LIKE A MAGIC ROCK OR SOMWTHING IDK I WATCHED IT ONCE 😭😭 pls i wanna watch it again i forgot i forgot the name of it idk how to explain it tho TT
So, I've been looking at snippets and reviews of this movie and one thing I've been thinking and others have been thinking as well, WHY DIDN'T THEY EXPLAINED TRUE LOVE'S FIRST KISS?! Like, Snow White was the first Princess that i know of that got true love's first kiss and it was a way to tell everyone hqving your first kiss with the person you truly love is something magical and has a purpose. Where was that in this movie? Why not make a fucking book or even Asha the twist villain? I love a good "protagonist is actually the villain" twists, I don't see that often. Or even have Amaya tell her there's a reason we can't grant all wishes because some of them can hurt people or are too vague. That way Starboy could tell them that Amaya can help Magnifico snap back to his old self by giving reasons she loves him and kiss him, snapping him back and either destroy the book or lock that book in the dungeon. Like, where are the origins of the true love's kiss? Is it just a myth in the Disney Universe?
the problem with most modern franchises is that they are trying too hard to fit their ideology into it in such a way that it breaks the story itself like your whole issues with the entire beginning, they are trying way too hard to SHOVE modern ideology into what is effectively a medieval era im not even talking about the races of people in an era where people of different skin colors are rare by coincidence and purpose yknow, the whole, you are darker skinned because your environment and genes demand you are? im talking about the fact that they are breaking the way that the songs and the interactions fit together within the setting, and putting in things like "girl power" and "everyone's skin color is accepted" rather than "people have different skin colors because of nature, and thats all, but its okay, because we are all going through life in our own ways" sort of vibe remember that there are white people playing black people and black people playing white people in a lot of older films, but we instead have people shoving their whole ideology into it ruining the way these films feel while making it apparent their ideology is at least somewhere in there
I WANT STARBOY TOO!!! 😭😭😭 They had an interesting concept going with a love story between Starboy and Asha that they could have expanded on. The disney formula has always been rooted in LOVE aside from MAGIC. The excuse that Starboy can shapeshift therefore rendering Asha, "useless" is a poor excuse for lackluster writing. Ughhh... I've never been so annoyed at a Disney animation before. The only thing "good" is Chris Pine's voice and the design of Magnifico because...He's a HANDSOME ASF. 😍🥰💜
Then, you referenced the princess and the frog as if it was something good. I understand. But let's stop and rewatch 'Atlantis' and 'Treasure Planet' so we can get a better grasp of what true art is in a Disney film because I think it's getting away from things like those and the horrible reception that they got that caused Disney to go in this horrible route it's going in today (and has been for over a decade). 'Atlantis: the Lost Empire' will always be the better Black Princess Disney movie than 'the Princess and the Frog'.
Me and my partner just watched this movie over the weekend and the best way we could describe it is that there is a main story happening somewhere to someone, but we're only following the perspective of the sire characters.
This feels like they trashed their plot late and panicked as they try to re-write it. And feels more like they started with a love story with star and Asha and someone wanted star to be a plushie...and well they turned the current Asha into their ship child I and made the star shut up and the goat blab his mouth.....
1:21 reminded me of that video about Mavis and Repunzel falling in love and the two guys from rise of the guardians were their dads and stopped them from being together I used to think it looked so realistic like a real movie but I went back to it a year ago and it looks horrible its so bad I used to be so obsessed with it as a kid I'm so stupid for writing this paragraph
I think a good reveal for the King's villainy could be that its revealed that he used his own selfish wish to make his queen be in love with him and that it was never real without the power. It would flip the love we see between them on its head and clarify his villainy from the beginning. It could've been that she was in love with someone else, and his vanity would've hurt if he lost her to someone he thought was beneath him perhaps. It definitely would've fit the selfishness and vanity that Disney's trying to portray him as, and solidified him as a hypocrite early on. It would then explain why he's all snarky about true love because his was never real and why the queen would suddenly not be in love with him at the end. And then if star boy was still human it could've been a good contrast of true love between her and star boy vs the fake love between the king and his queen.
No matter how many times i see him, starboy looks so much like Lumalee from mario. Honestly, with Valentino, i feel like he was just supposed to be a nod to Esmerelda's goat from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I mean, he's dressed like he's from there too. Even Djali was helpful to Esmerelda and had sass. So it almost feels like Disney tried to take the animal companion from from one of their non-princesses and gave it to their newest princess... which sucks for Esmerelda.
I am wondering ur opinion on treasure planet do u love it or hate it cause I do like it But also it's funny how hazbin hotel has more passion in its song than wish
Every time I hear these songs in English (the language they were presumably written in originally) I'm reminded of just how MUCH better these songs are in my language because the person who localized them is an actual lyricist who knows what he's doing.
honestly for me I would want the 7 teens as sides characters in one musical number or at least be part of one in her introduction/first song. I'd like to see the 7 teens as her 7 bullies, making it meaningful and more related with asha's personality is so bubbly and social that even though there are still some people who has doubts on her dream, and they take it out on her because they didn't get their wishes as a coopig mechanism like any other bullies, she has to keep going and never give up. But at the climax of the story, they somehow helps Asha enter the castle. why? because they want their wishes to come true too, so they'll lay it all out even though they think that asha's is reaching to much or that is impossible for her to reach that goal. and like to think that it's an omage to tangled, starboy as Rapunzel and Asha as Eugene but with different personalities from tangled, their personality from the "what could have been if star is starboy" stays the same. and the 7 teens as the snuggly duckling.
