“My number 1 aim for you is to have fun and fall in love with the drums.” I graduated with a Jazz Degree from Auckland University in 2009 and teach/play drums for a living. I am a lifelong student of drumming. Come along for the ride... SUBSCRIBE!
Great song! Thanks! It sounded familiar, but I only knew about because of this cover....lol This is the badass cute version. "PANTERA / Walk [Cover by NEMOPHILA] " ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vzhNKDY6Vhw.html This is the badass cute version.
Nothing Vinnie does is really that impressive if you look at it on it's own, but thrown together he really made a unique signature style and that is something that's truly impressive in music. Pantera were one of those bands that really carved their own place in metal. Dimebag and Vinnie were definitely at the core of that, in my opinion, both had unique styles that grooved well together.
Fabulous.... I love the song, being of a certain age.... And it was great to see you actually playing along to it in all the detail. Loved the inset of the floor action too, I love how the drum part serves the song so well too..!! Thanks. it's nice to see you "do your thing" once in a while too. Keep on Rocking young sir..!
Pantera, master class in groove metal... Walk, Cemertary Gates, Fukin Hostile, Cowboys From Hell, Hollow, Mouth For War, The Badge, the list goes on! Love'em and hoping to see them in London soon. Dimebag (strings), Vinnie (sticks), Phil (vocals) and Rex (bass), great combo!
Pantera is a master class in how to bring groove to metal - and influenced so many bands to come. The way the drums support the guitar groove is on point, punches where it's needed, and space where the guitars need to be the star.
I think "Hollow" is one of Vinnies most interesting grooves. Slow song but after 30 years I still can't play it tight. Deceptively difficult!!! Oh, and lyrically very heavy.
Pantera is a great band and the Abbott brothers( Vinnie and Dime) are legends. Vinnie is in my top 3 drummers of all time. I would recommend watching Slaughtered, Domination, Revolution is my name, 13 steps, or Strength Beyond Strength.
Bro you should listen to sleeping village and the warning one after the other as they are essentially the same song in one. Classic sabbath and just a different way of seeing how good they actually were. Cheers mate. Nice work. From hamilton.
Ohh bro..... massive hey fro. New zealand, wow bro I've loved sabbath and the live version of this in Paris 1970... and you nailed it bro! True too the song just with a bit of eloy and absolutely blown away. Congrats on getting into slipknot can't wait for new album. Legend bro.
Pantera were FIRE LIVE, fealing of club gig on a big stage ... bands recomended 'ATHEIST album > Unquestionable Presence' ru-vid.com/group/OLAK5uy_nc1HNu5Q4S2mAXLwrZg43y-8_NSgOJwgA and 'Believer - Trilogy of Knowledge' ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RXdk2QA5pYA.html
Vinnie is and was an inspiration! He has so many classic tracks, can't go wrong with any of them. He was a groove master with tons of power! Speed too.
Andrew - have you ever done Machine Head? You should do Machine Head. Especially after Pantera. There are two eras of Machine Head to look at; the first album with Chris Kontas on drums, songs like Davidian and Old. After Pantera, these two songs would be amazing in your ears. The second era of Machine Head is when they changed their drummer to Dave McClain. For me, his best is on the song Imperium. The album versions of all of these would be great but live versions would obviously be amazing. There will be a lot of good festival appearances of Dave doing Imperium. And there's some live studio studio recordings of Chris doing Davidian and Old for the 25th album anniversary about 5 years ago, which are great. Cheers!
Andrew I'm so glad you are now getting into Pantera. I know you only guarantee Paypal requests but please try to fit in Domination live from Moscow. You will be blow away.
Vulgar Display of Power is their “second” album of this style of music. They started out as a “glam” metal band but decided to switch up to this “groove” metal sound and thus the genre was born. Cowboys From Hell is the first incarnation of “groove” metal from them and you should start their to see how it’s progressed 🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯
Ahem, everyone should start with Pussy Tight, Steve. Joking aside, there's one piece from pre-CFH era that's really worth listening to, Blue Light Turnin' Red. Dimebag was something else man.
This is the song that blew the band up I think it was the 4th single from Vulgar Display Of Power If ZZ Top and Metallica had a baby it would be named Pantera haha ✌️🧐🤘😎
Wow, this takes me back to having a sneaky smoke with the lads behind the shed at school!😂The gate the guitarist has on his axe is so chunkingly awesome; maybe time to dust of my old Pantera LP collection... PS: Today's "That what she said" jumped out my left channel so loud it made a little poo come out.😂😂
it is maybe just maybe be cause almost an entire generation of metalheasds got to know Pantera than'ks to this song...like myself indeed. This song is so popular for a reason, it's be caused is one of the grooviest songs you could ever hear from a band in the early 90's. A great song. By the way he just searched in the net for the most popular song.
