I essentially did this procedure with the exception of this. After final sanding with 2000-3000 grit, I used a polishing pad connected to my drill and placed some polishing compound on the solar cells, working it until a fine mirror finish. This last step made a huge difference. Finally, I sprayed a lacquer clear coat on the cell. Final Note: This process made a huge difference in the number of hours that the solar light stayed on. It essentially now works all night, whereas before it was only working 3 hours or so.
I just ordered a renewed Galaxy Watch 3 to replace my Gear S3 Classic Watch. The battery life has been dropping as it has gotten older, but still over 1 day and a couple hours. Always on display, text and some other notifications. Ordered 45 mm case silver finish similar to current Gear S3 Classic. I started with Gear S3 and S8 phone, now have an A51 4G 128GB phone paired to Gear S3, and will pair Watch 3 with same phone. Looking forward to new features not available on the Gear S3 Classic. Hopefully Watch 3 will be easier to read in full sun because that is really problematic in the SE Florida sunshine on Gear S3 Classic.
