Fun Fact: One of the serious other handguns that matched the 1911 up to the final stages of the test trials was the Savage 1907 in 45. Very cool handgun.
Sixth fun fact: sewing machine company Singer made a 1911 so good that it outdid Colt. One recently went for $414,000 at auction, one of the highest prices for a handgun.
Arguably still the best semiauto pistol even more than a century later. The Springfield Ronin EMP pistols show how the 1911 remains a contender even in the current Wonder Nine era.
For the longest time growing up I thought Tom hanks killed that tank with a .45 wasn't until I watched it again recently that I realized the fighter planes showed up in time and plane is what blew up the tank
Never used the 1911, but used the Hi-Power. You could really appreciate how it was built and how solid it felt. Even with its disadvantages regarding stowage, I’d still be as happy with it as a glock.
Still have my 1979 Star BM 9mm Par. Only regeet is not buying the alloy product - the steel is uncomfortuble heavy but still my baby. Could also never understand why so many pistols looked the same....but when I learned about the 1911 the sun did rise. Remains a beautiful pistol regardsless of todays products.
A machine that is under-engineered overly durable is a great machine. Browning is up there with the best when it comes to such firearms. And Kalishnakov as well I guess (I think I read he was inspired by Browning and had illicitly obtained a Browning gun when he was a kid?)
So what is the reason for the cheese, what's in it, Is it the hormones that make the average female breast size before cheese and dairy surplus go from a full B to a now full C cup size, That's actually a statistical fact I saw somewhere, I'm actually very grateful for the government do that, probably the best we'll spent government plans that benefited all men everywhere and women, I mean it's a win win all the way around, Could they Maybe modify it to be able to increase it to full D while still retaining perkyness , if they can't manufacture the hormones to increase and retain perkyness, Then we the people appreciate retaining perky at a C don't wanna get greedy and end up with big messy floppies not appealing
My first gun is a Charles Daily 1911 .45 I took it to the range and popped 400ish rounds and it felt great to shoot. The recoil is very low and the grip is the perfect size for my hands cause I'm 6'2 I guess? I Also bought a compact 9mil and it kinda sucks with my hands and long fingers and being tall and thin it's hard to CC so I have to appendix carry to hide the gun profile and sitting for a long time in certain chairs kinda hurts. I do love Kimber guns and I've heard there a lot of hate but they did make my love for the 1911 even stronger.
