Best to go with ATG's It's an DSC-R1 with ATG/Zeiss (Zeiss Japan) 24-120 lenses. If you don't need video. ATG's world's first normal flash sync is 1/2000
Hi Lewis. It is 2024 and I brought this lens. Now I can use this lense on my DSLRs 7D Mark II and 700D and on my R cameras RP and R7 with the mount adapters. First test photos with my RP... razor sharp and great quality. I'm impressed of this masterpiece of L glas. Great build quality. I don't regret to buy this "old" lense new in 2024. In combination with my 70-200 IS L USM III f/2.8 a great lense team on every of my cameras.
Buy good Glas. If you can afford a L lense, buy it. Depends on what you are shooting, go on the Canon web page and look for purposes of an 16-35, 24-70 and 70-200 L IS USM with f/2.8 or f/4. What lense match with your purpose you want to shoot and price... go for it and buying this Llense.
I shoot with 5D IV and R5 at the same time an took thousands of photos. I didn't want to believe it, but the Mark IV has a magic to it. There's something to it's presentation in final images. Sure, R5 is stunning and new lenses are super sharp. But photography is an art. The people viewing them don't have the metadata.
totaly agreed... I love shooting my primes like 24 or 35mm or 100mm L-glasses but it's so annoying to exchange them a lot... it's so fun to be able to shot widely and in few seconds shot details to tell nice story...
I have shot football and basketball matches for local newspapers on the 5DMK2. Its autofocus isn't the snappiest but it's good enough for sports photography on a professional level. What more could you ask of a 15 years old camera? Take a look at photographers in regional or even national level games and sports events, most of them will be rocking older DSLRs like the Canon 1Dx. And that's the genre that benefits the most from tech innovations. Between news and studio work, a large number of professionals still earn their living with cameras widely labeled as "obsolete" by tech enthusiasts and armchair photographers.
Talking telephoto... we always compromise the price, size\weight and aperture... I found my golden spot - *EF 200mm f/2.8 L USM II* . Yes, it does not have IS (modern R-bodies help it with IBIS, though), is not as versatile as 70-200 2.8 or as long as 70-300 4-5.6, but it is rather cheap for L lens, sharp corner to corner even wide open and way smaller and lighter than 70-200, while still being 2.8. Easily hand-holdable for a long time and not conspicuous. USM plus focus limiter also makes it lightning fast for action. Fantastic and unfairly forgotten lens.
Such a versatile lens. I had the EF 70-200 f2.8 & used it for 17 years, often working 6 days a week on assignments. This lens never let me down & I never had to send it to Canon for any type of repair. The build quality was exceptional & it zoomed internally. The RF version zooms externally & the RF lens does NOT accept a 1.4 or 2.0 teleconverter.
50mm is such an awkward lens on FF. Its not realy portrait. Not realy wide shot. I kinda dont like it the most actualy. Usualy i suppose people look the best kinda in a middle shot, like pelvis to head or something... Walked around all day just filming stuff... And its just so awkward to find anything to put in shot... Its better for photo though, because you can rotate the camera 90 degrees for a portrait shot. But yeah... i realy dont get it, you have to work around it alot to get anything ok with it... If you have just one lens, a 35mm or 24mm would do so much better. And then go straigh in to 85mm and 135mm. I own a 50mm but its hard to find good use for it actualy...
Getting a high resolution sensor to record 4k is a bad idea. You either need a lot of wasteful processing for downsampling or skip lines, which gives trash image quality. You can also crop, but your angle of view will be tiny.
I would love to see a comparison between images taken with the 5DS and EOS R3 Flagship under conditions the 5DS is meant for... I want to see the actual pictures. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone will ever take the time to post this type of thing.
Great lens. Sharpness isn't the thing. It is when you need F1.2 - thats when that 50mm prime comes in. But otherwise, this zoom is magic. F2.8 is plenty most of the time. I am working towards getting one for my R7 - it works like a 35mm to 110mm F2.8 (with a DOF that looks like F4), or with the speedbooster a 27mm to 77mm F2 (with a DOF that looks like F2.8) equivalent FF respectively. Used I can get them for under $600 now if I am patient

Great video. I actually love my L series 24-105mm lens for travelling. I agree with your comments regarding the 70-200 mm lens. If only weight wasn't an issue when travelling.👍
Yes that's high, Canon rate the shutter good for 150,000 but that's not to say it won't keep going way past that. Better to be cautious and look for one with a low shutter count
I didn't get a 5DSR when the first came out, though I've had several mid-level and pro camera bodies over the years. About 6 months after I bought an R5 in 2021, I became aware that B&H (and probably others) was selling the 5DSR new for $1500. A 50MP camera for only $1500? Hell, yeah! I bought one immediately, and to be honest, I like the images from it better than the R5 even though it doesn't have as good an AF system. But for walk-around stuff, street photography, landscapes and general portraiture, It offers really nice files. I have ended up using the 5DSR way more for still than the R5. I have basically relegated the R5 to mainly video work and I still use my 1DX for fast-action photos. When I really need the top-tier AF for tracking, I'll use the R5 for still. That said, I feel like I'm much happier with the 5DSR overall. Maybe that's because of the price I paid and the value I feel like I'm getting for the dollar. Either way, it's a fantastic camera and I don't regret purchasing it one bit.
