Such an awesome down to earth and real Aussie holiday video. Well done guys. Gotta love those Kmart jet boils and Kings fridges. We been running both for years without fail. LT I’m a vic, great to see yr Vic Bitter shirt mate but if you have ever actually had it, surprised if you would have it again 😂 Love u guys. Keep it going. Wonderful channel
@RochelleEbbern This is a hipcamp called Platypus Point in Fernvale QLD, it's up there on price cause it's a one spot only camp, but so worth it! If you wanted to see more of it, we have two campsite review vids on our RU-vid channel.. we have been twice cause we loved it.
@@RochelleEbbern here is the hipcamp link if that helps. hipcamp.onelink.me/ZwFp?af_r=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hipcamp.com%2Fland%2Fqeoh5zy5&deep_link_value=land%2Fqeoh5zy5&share_id=yqarxqsqr&
@Lifestyle_Brisbane It really is, I think we will book the Old boat ramp next time, the site looked amazing when we walked past... although all of the sites looked awesome 👌🏻
@Lifestyle_Brisbane it's such a great spot, we have been there twice now. We have heard the price has gone up since we stayed, but honestly so peaceful and the owners are so lovely!
@dannthenitroman That would work too! I do like how these pack flat once empty though and god knows we have so much rubbish when camping, one less bottle is a win 😁
Yes I bought one of these in early sept 24, yes I hear you about the deals and such. Only used mine as a fridge tied down in the back of my Ranger and gotta say I like it. Did some time up around the cape ( Wujal Wujal, Aurukun, Cook Town and Lakelands area) and it preformed great, powering it with roof top solar and LiFePo4 battery. Thumbs up nice review. And I think the fridge cover is worth it.
@robertdwyer1784 That is awesome to hear it works so great, especially with it being with you on a long trip in the heat too! Great part of Australia up there too, that's where legends are from 🤣 Cheers for the comment and thumbs up too!
@broneo2165 sorry for the delay in getting back to you! 100% it will fit under any awning thats the right size, don't think it needs to be a kings awning! Honestly we have used ours a lot and still can't fault it.
Hi. We have loved watching your videos on RU-vid. You have inspired us to give this video thing a try. Would like to know what apps you use for editing and stuff like that. Thank you Glenn and Tamara
@gntsadventures hey, so sorry for the delay in getting back to you! You 100% should give it a go. We just film on our phones when out and about and we use Filmora to edit. You do have to pay for a non watermarked version, I have heard there are heaps of free video editing software that's simular and easy to use but we already had this one so we stuck with it. You should let us know when you are up and running and we will subscribe for sure. We are always up for supporting like minded channels and love seeing other people's adventures!
@@SuzeLTsExcellentAdventures Thank you for the advice. Will start to look into it all a bit more and hopefully we will have a video of our own up soon.
@Moosey-n-Vanette Hey, thanks for watching. We have had another camp trip that was high winds the entire time, the awning tent stood strong, our other kitchen awning on the other side of the car didn't go too well cause it was old and needed replacing anyway, but the awning tent and the awning it was under was no issue at all. So far we have had heavy rain and high winds and still can't fault it's performance.
Great video guys, cherish the memories camping with the kids. Please keep building your channel. Am 53 and wife 47, our five kids (long time blended family range 15-22YO) and still come camping with us when our schedules permit. Always great times. We run a combination of camper trailer with 270 awning and awning tent with gazebo and gazebo tents with swags, 2 fridges for all the food. Very simple but very comfortable. Mostly camp in the huge variety available in the Vic high country. Went out this last weekend to Walhalla and hate technology when camping but thought maybe everyone and then a projector with a big screen to watch a movie around the camp fire might be exciting and nice. Your thoughts on this especially with your younger kids or is this a bad idea and keep them in nature alone.
@bryceyoung4984 Hey look we were the same with no tech when camping at the start, we only bought the projector for if the weather is bad and as a last resort, honestly we have used it only to watch football cause our kids (and us) love watching the football together, before the projector we just listened to it on the radio. Our younger kids did have their "phones" really just a smaller tablet not an actual phone and they did play games on it when we where prepping dinner or had small down time periods. Our view is as long as the majority of the time the kids are doing nature stuff or contributing to the family holiday or playing 99% more with each other than they do at home we are happy. There is no reason they can't have a small portion of home comforts (devices) while LT and I are doing adult boring stuff like prepping food etc. That's just our view however, we have found the kids really don't need to be forced to put their tech away, they enjoy the outdoors just as much. However the phones/projector give LT and I that small portion of peace to get organised. Love hearing about your getaways, we see so much about the vic high country, looks so amazing!
@@SuzeLTsExcellentAdventures I miss the basics and when you see others they have the best of everything and i feel so small if that makes sense. Thank you. <3
100% agree with you both. Even with dogs people will not pick up after them and they ban our dogs for people who do right its so unfair on people who make sure the place is spotless when you leave. I get sick of grubs as well as you spend hours cleaning up others mess and its so wrong. I smoke but i take my own ashtray as i hate seeing butts laying around as its my pet hate. Thanks for the video and loved your little man as mine and yours could be twins lol
We agree, it's not hard to pick up after yourself. We just don't want others to spoil these great spots for others. Hope your Snag is going well. Snickers didn't love the cold on the first night for this trip we admit, but we have bought him new bigger jackets now (he looks ridiculous but at least he is warm) 😂
You smashing it guys, keep ‘EM coming. Great to see you not bias or canning the kings gear as it makes it affordable for so many to get out there and enjoy. Like you we got a broad mix of brand product but have heaps of kings gear and can’t fault any of it. I run a kings 2.5 x2.5 on my car when I saw it with the boys, and an expensive free standing 270 awning on the camper when out with the wife. XTM have some great products at great price points also. Thanks heaps for the review.
Thanks heaps mate. Glad to hear your loving your Kings gear too. For us its just getting out there as often as we can with the gear that works for us. Would be keen to hear more about your 270 on the camper, next video for us will be kids camping with our camper trailer, keen to know how to make that set up easier!
@@SuzeLTsExcellentAdventures we run the 2.7m 30 second awning on the camper with the zip on 30 second tent. If all the kids coming we setup a 3x3m wanderer gazebo with 2 or 3 gazebo hub tents. Key for us is to have a base camp and keep the car free as we love to get out and hit the 4x4 tracks during the day also. Mostly in the Vic high country. Also if we need the car quickly in an emergency we can get out quick.
Well done. Yes we have two of these. 2.5 and 3m sizes. We have them off the sides of a tear drop camper. Yes we found out the hard way about the zipper, it is very simple to set up though. We've lived in ours for 5 weeks now until a rental becomes available. Plenty of room for everything.
We just have the internal lights switched to off, so it doesn't drain our battery. We don't leave the back open at night of course, pretty much once we finished cooking dinner at night it gets closed.
