Hi. Don't worry soon I will be uploading a video on how I draft a basic skirt. There I will be explaining how you can create a gathered skirt like this one. In the meantime I will try to explain as best as I can. You need the following measurements: Waist ÷ 4 Hip ÷ 4 Waist to Hip Length (or where you will be having your skirt gathers starting from) normally I use 18 cm as the length which works for most different sizes as a standard length but if you have voluminous hips you have to take the measurement from waist to the protruding side of the hips. Skirt Length: from waist to desired length For the gathers: For cotton fabrics mostly you multiply the full circumference of where you would like to have the gatheres start by *2.5 and this will be determine the volume of your gathers. If you would like less you can lower the number *2 or *1.5 your preference. For drawing darts you need to divide the waist by ÷ 2 and then draw a straight line and divide the dart by ÷1.5 on each side of the line in total it should be 3 cm. The length of the front dart is 10 cm and the back 15cm. I hope it makes sense if it doesn't then please stay tuned as I will be uploading a tutorial soon on how to draft a skirt. What's the point of making videos if you don't show people how to cut, we want to learn from scratch, unless you want people to know how to sew it will be good to show us how you cut then sew
This is a vlog not a sewing tutorial, there is a difference. I'm still gonna make sewing tutorials if people want to see them. I am interested in giving sewing tutorials though, if there are people who are interested. I am just showing how i sew something not giving lessons for this one.
