No. It was the end to a cadence called, 'BOSTON.' Written by the former section leader, Jesse Campbell. It consisted of a solo & groove section in which any (predetermined) member could take a 4 measure solo. This was followed by the tag to which you were questioning.
I don't know. My brother might've taken some of us as we were learning it in the very beginning stages, heheh. I have one of us outside playing it after the indoor performance. I'll try to get it up soon. The audio quality is a lot clearer.. since its outside.
it just doesnt look as awesome and mindblowing without traditional grip.. its not that much harder.. for some people, its easier.. i also don't have much respect for the marching bell set.. simply annoying, belongs on the sideline.. watch the bass drums from VT too.. they don't always play in the center of the head, overall, not impressive..
It wasn't meant to be a 'battle.' We asked them (VA Tech) to trade some licks with us. When they were done with their last cadence they said, 'That's all we have.' So, we played Sequence. It was never meant to ridicule, embarrass, or challenge anyone. This is what happens when fans take things too far and distort what it means to be a drummer and have fun. I wish that stupid damn movie DRUMLINE had never existed.
Alright FSU fans do you not realize all the VT drum line did that year was play a few warmp up they didnt even consider it a drum off. The line said they just met up to play some different tunes. You want to have a real drum off and see FSU get owned wait till the Tournament this year when We come down there. We will show you how its done.
I hate to break it to you guys and girls but VT were not even trying to do a Drum off. Tech was just playing a few warm-ups and some random stuff. They never planned it to be a drum-off. If they would have found out that FSU wanted a drum off they probably would have won.
I think you're referring to the Big 10. The Big 8 is the name of the drumline at FSU. If it sounds like something you played in highschool, its because your highschool copied us.. like many highschools in Florida and the surrounding states.
Hokies got Served! Great job guys! Where can I catch these drumoffs? The only time I see you guys before the pregame ceremonies is when the Big 8 do their breakdown near the south field entrance.
