Just a somewhat shy, nerdy, black woman here trying to explore more of her creative side using this platform. Videos to come! Some vlogs, some reaction videos, some beloved playlists, some "twist and rants" and as much black girl joy I can bring out here! 🤗
I am Zulu from South Africa. I just want to let you know that we stand with you because we are family and we are saddened by the injustice we see happening in America and throughout the diaspora
I appreciate your comment so much! And I see you! I wish we'd stop with the diaspora wars and understand that certain circumstances aside we really are one people. 🤎🤎
@@heymisshilda7355 I agree with you my sister. this in fighting is delaying our progress as a people and it gives our oppressors leverage to do what they want. Our people are considered minority in the diaspora but really we are the majority if we stand together.
Beyonce performed at CMA's with the Chick's, the reason Beyonce wore that very form fitting dress and shaking her ass. She did that to take the heat off the Chick's, the CMA's had Black Balled them and Beyonce wouldn't do Daddy Lessons without the Chick's so they were pissed but what could they do and WE got the Chick's and Beyonce colab. I personally LOVE KNTRY music but after all crap they were talking about Beyonce, I never watched Country Music Awards again but if Beyonce is going to be there I'm here for it. I hope she brings the artist that featured on this album 🎉🎉
Oh yeah, I've heard about how they've been mistreated in this space, just like how Bey has been and it's crazy that they did that! I never even paid attention to the CMAs until she performed and I still don't. But I love me some KNTRY too, lol! And I also hope she's able to bring the featured artists, they were all such good features!
The "vocalists, musicians, and orators" who are featured on the album include: Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Linda Martell, Stevie Wonder, Chuck Berry, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Jon Batiste, Rhiannon Giddens, Nile Rodgers, Robert Randolph, Gary Clark, Jr., Willie Jones, Brittney Spencer, Shaboozey, Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell and Tiera Kennedy. Also included throughout the album are The-Dream, Pharrell Williams, NO I.D., Raphael Saadiq, Ryan Tedder, Ryan Beatty, Swizz Beatz, Khirye Tyler, Derek Dixie, Ink, Nova Wav, Mamii, Cam, Tyler Johnson, Dave Hamelin, and Shawn "JAY-Z" Carter.
Everything about this album was absolutely beautiful and so phenomenal! This was like a big eff you to all the critics and naysayers who wanted her to stay in her lane, and not branch out to different genres of music. But Beyoncé shows that a true artist and creative doesn't limit themselves and finds new ways to evolve and grow, and as a result works like this album are made possible! I was especially emotional about "BLACKBIIRD" because I love that song and I know that Paul McCartney (John Lennon contributed in some part) wrote that song as a tribute and a gift to Black women after the Civil Rights Movements of the 1960s and so to hear it here and to hear it being covered in particular by Black women country artists was amazing!! Overall, just a solid piece of work!
It is nice to hear someone who actually loves and appreciates country music. The yt country folk been saying all week their main issue was that this wasn’t country music. I knew it was just them being haters and unwelcoming of Beyoncé specifically. Great review. Thank you!
Thank you so much! 😊 Yeah they've pretty much always been in arms over her being in this genre and they'll continue to be unfortunately, but like you said it's haters being haters and she's gonna do her thing regardless.
I cannot stand modern country music. I actually wasn't going to listen to these 2 songs. But I'm so glad Beyonce proved me wrong. 16 carriages moved me, and apparently everyone else, in a way I wasn't ready for. I'd say it's easily the best song of her entire career.
Your review has been the best one I've seen so far on these YT streets, because you go into the TRUTH that Country Music was/is/and forever will be created/originated by Black People. I'm so proud of your review of the whitewashing of Country Music and that your brought the receipts. Awesome Review and Thank you for showing that YT can be used to tell the truth and educate.
Wow! Thank you so much for watching and for your comment! There's so much that's been stolen and continues to be stolen from Black people and the credit is never given where it's due. Black people have made this country what it is and has brought it so much culture and yet, we're still seen as inferior! Thank you again 🙏🏾
Alice Randall has a new book out shortly - My Black Country A Journey Through Country Music's Black Past, Present, and Future By Alice Randall. There is a companion album of the songs she has written for Country Artists. Rhiannon Giddens (the banjo on Texas Hold Em) does a track on that album.
Halle was PERFECT as Ariel! Jonah & Halle's chemistry was everything. I agree Jessica Alexander as Vanessa was like how many minutes do I have on screen? 3 minutes, Cool, let me try to win an Oscar real quick, she was an Awesome Vanessa!
Stephen Spielberg found a 17 year old Hispanic girl with a giant voice named Rachel Zegler to sing in his 2022 remake of West Side story that made it a hit. The Disney people quickly cast Zegler as a Disney princess for their 2024 remake of Snow White. Halle Bailey's voice is as big as Zegler's and reminds me of the RU-vid video entitled "Summertime!-Clara!" where black actress Clara Paula Ingram teamed up with black coloratura soprano Harolyn Blackwell to create an iconic Clara in the famous American opera Porgy and Bess written by white people including the Gershwin brothers specifically for black musicians.
Woah! This is really cool, thank you for sharing all this! ☺️ I just took a listen to Summertime!-Clara! and man Harolyn Blackwell's voice is phenomenal and Clara sang for her life! I've heard a number of renditions of this song, but this one here is absolutely exceptional! 👏🏾👏🏾
@@heymisshilda7355 Wikipedia indicates that because Harolyn Blackwell was a coloratura soprano she had too many opera gigs to take time off to appear in the TV movie so they just dubbed her voice into Clara Paula Ingraham's acting like they did in the 1961 version of West Side Story where the dubbed Marnie Nixon's singing voice on top of Natalie Wood's acting. Marnie only got a couple hundred dollars for her singing. When New York Philharmonic conductor Leonard Bernstein, who composed West Side Story heard about that he wrote a supplementary check to Marnie that indicated he thought quite highly of what she did for his music.
@@heymisshilda7355 As a coloratura soprano Harolyn Blackwell specialized in singing Baroque arias by Mozart that have always been popular because those who can sing them are considered super-stars. Mozart originally wrote them for 15 year old coloratura soprano Anna De Amicis who entranced him. Anna is hilariously portrayed in the movie Amadeus in the RU-vid video entiled "OPERA PLANET Amadeus Mozart 'Turkish Finale Seraglio' 4K ULTRA HD". Currently the top colortura soprano is Rumanian Teodora Gheorghiu who can be heard singing colortua baroque arias on the RU-vid videos entitled "Tortorella Abbandonata-RU-vid" and "Porpora-Aria di Mirteo: In braccio mille furie". She can be seen on the RU-vid video entitled "Teodora Gheorghiu-making of a CD Anna de Amicis (french subtitles)". Teodora started as a flute player until age 14 when she got frustrated with mistakes she made while playing the flute so she switched to singing lessons. I ordered her 2010 CD entitled Arias for Anna de Amicis and was enchanted by her Baroque music. This CD has the above arias and ten others.
Conceptually limited as you said; anthropomorphic animals or furniture in live action will always be bizarre. In Cinderella live-action they dropped all the talking animals. In Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid, these animals are in the heart of the film; So no way around it.. In little Mermaid the music is also in the heart of the film, so thank god they cast a professional singer, cause that girls voice can carry the whole film and overwhelm the live-action's limitations.
Aww thank you so much!! 😊 I would recommend watching Chizi Duru, Nappy Fu, Latoya Ebony, Jen Jackson, to name a few when it comes to hair typing, especially with 4c hair. With natural hair also, I think if you know your porosity, it helps a lot more than the hair type, especially in figuring out what products will work best for you. And it's really a journey, so definitely go at your own pace, and understand that what might work for one person, won't necessarily work for you and that's okay too. Overall enjoy the journey and the process and be kind to yourself and your hair ❤️☺️
let me say growing up, i grew up with the animated version and loved it of course. i have always wanted to see a live action version of this and here it is and excited. Im still not use to her hair but her voice nails it. There is just few nitpicks but easily can get over. But of all the trailers and clips everytime i have seen this i have gotten goosebumps and personally i cant wait to see it.
I echo your sentiments, and some of my nitpicking includes the color and lighting, which I will say has been much improved with this new trailer, but could still be better...still, very excited to see how it all comes together! 😊 Thank you for watching!
I'll turn 62 April 2-20-23 and IM SO EXCITED 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿I WANT TO HAVE AN ADULT THEMED LITTLE MERMAID ( HALLE BAILEY) BIRTHDAY PARTY 🎉🥳 IM GOING TO PURCHASE THE DELUXE HB ARIEL DOLL FOR MY COLLECTION,🙏🏾✌🏿😘😍🥰
Thank you! 😊 I'm still relatively new to the reaction space, so I'm seeing what I'll be interested in and will be taking suggestions as well. I plan on doing a review of this movie once it comes out, and will hopefully be doing one for Wakanda Forever as well.
