For me it’s actually helped, My right hand is stronger than my left and my right wrist is also bigger and they used to be the same size when i started training
It’s possible. I’ve seen them used more and more recently in a lot of sports. Need to work out how to make them best really not just the same as the rest 🙂
@@GodsOfGrip There all basically the same a thick diameter spring with a handle either side. The materials & colors, range of diameter thickness, handle lengths, handle nurling or rubber raised coated or other grippy. Maybe create a PT league so practitioner/strength enthusiast have recognition for each level, 20kg to 150kg and beyond. Based on 1 rep max & Maximum reps in one minute. PT is something that alot of people see and think, my dad had one when I was little, or that looks easy why bother owning that. High tension are a real badge of honour. Just shooting some ideas at you...,😁👍.
You talk about not doing the whole movement but micro reps where you only work with the gripper largely closed. I usually make bigger movements, like wider than parallel, and close from there until completely closed. But maybe should change and make short movements instead and not so much full closures. I'm on Cc 2.5 and manage it sometimes but will try driving with no. 2 and short movements. I have a hard time with reps if I don't reset the gripper after each rep it loses position and then it becomes hard to close it. I can only do one rep with #2 without switching it but if I switch it I can do five reps. I'm bad at consecutive reps but I'm still strong at singles. I'm increasing all the time, so I'm doing something right, but I've been doing it for almost two years and it's not going fast, I'm building grip, but I have two Cc 2.5 and I've passed one, but I still have one mm left on the heavy 2.5 . I train singles at 2.5 threes and keep it closed as long as I can. I run 3X3 on a heavy No. 2 and 2X8 on No. 1.5 rest three days and run again. Changes program after a month or so, but usually drives hard!
I think anything wider than parallel is only really good for TNS closes and set training. Everyone responds differently to different ranges so it’s definitely worth trying different widths and rep ranges. It is a slow and painful journey but a fun one for sure 😉
@@GodsOfGripyou should have them positioned in a way so you cannot lean into the pull like that. I could easily pull with my back and lean the weight of my torso into the pull subtle enough for no one to notice
@@w4r1lord8 I avoided grip training for a few weeks until I felt no pain at all. Then started to lift light weight (I had pain in every armlifting movement, I train mostly the hub). The problem was training every day, think of it like every other strength training excersice like bench or biceps curl- you wont lift every day. rest is important 🙂
Damn 5 sets of 2 is waaay less than I thought to do! I've been going 3-5 sets of 10-15 with say 60% 1RM. Might have to mix it up a bit and try something new :D
Absolutely brilliant Interview. A wealth of knowledge! I didn't know the handshake was based on David's hand. Something to think about and distract you when your doing a hold on it.
A good deep dish plate for hub lifts is the one from strengthshop, it has a very straight hub (not slanted). It's not super thick for a deep dish but it's the best I've been able to find in Europe so far.
Very interesting about the liquid chalk suggestion. I’ve used both and actually find liquid chalk has been better for me against normal which is strange?
Paddy made the Inch combo look remarkably easy. And he gave the 104kg bell a good go. Highly inspirational. I literally have my hands full lifting the 66kg Gods of Grip bell... So impressive to see big bells go up like that.
Learned a lot I didn't know about you Craig this was great. But my Floridian ass could barely pay attention cause all I could see was your breath when you talked. LOL Mind blowing all the different equipment, really cool. I'm sure I couldn't even do a quarter of what you did LOL good stuff guys
Paddy’s gonna have a massive next 18months I reckon Tom ,he’s got a old head on young shoulders when it comes to training however he defo needs some practice on the Dynamometer 😂 but he’s a top block you can have a laugh with
