I knew it was going to be expensive but damn. This product is definitely for someone with money to burn. Your average mtb enthusiast would much rather put that $500 towards a bike upgrade.
It is the buy once cry once bike rack for sure. Super premium. Zero issues for the whole time I have had it and it is the most stable rack I have ever used.
good to know ... like what others have said below, never knew this was essential for bike care (in the very beginning); got a new road with disc brakes - will definitely do this.
Thank you for the video. It would have been helpful to show the additional steps of removing the fork (removing the wheel, brake cables, etc) for the people who are first-timers.
So how was it in the long term? I couldn't find a long term review. I can't find much information on this droppper. Also, any idea who this dropper is made by? Thanks
Only one way to tell if it is a really fast race bike. Put a stop watch on a lap with the bike against other bikes. Same power outputs and effort/heart rate and if the stop watch says it is faster, it really is faster.
Finally...an e-mtb that scratches many of the itches that are truly in line with what a mountain bike should look like. It still has a few too many misses for me, though. *I hope that Cyke will spec the Falcon S with a dropper post, clutched derailuer, tubeless ready wheels and water bottle mounts on future Falcon S bikes, and I will hold off on buying one until/unless they do.* Even with its need for upgrades, I'm still impressed by this offering from Cyke! A maker that I've never heard of until your videos.
It looks like your bike closest to the truck was clearing the top of the tailgate ok (handlebars). Not so sure this would work for a flat backed travel trailer with a hitch mount??? Is there adjustment in and out (away) from the tow vehicle?
⭐️Superior XF 979 TR Buy Here: bikesonline-usa.sjv.io/jrNgaa If you watch this video and decide this is the bike for you and order one. I would greatly appreciate if you could use my Affiliate link. No cost to you it just helps out my channel. Thanks everyone ✌🏻
Thanks for the review Mike! I pulled the trigger and ordered one. Seems like a great bike for the single track trails near me. It should be a big step up from my upgraded Mongoose Ardor x1 lol!
Thank you been looking for a real review of this bike. Sure the videos bikes online has done gives you a lot of information but it isn't a independent review. On paper it really does look like a great bike. Curious if you could compare it to the previous generation stump jumper or the newer Specialized chisel. The bottom bracket is my one hesitation, just because of creaking after a few hours is common on press in brackets, especially when one rides a bike hard. And thank you for confirming it is dtswiss hubs also, too many reviewers skip over the hubs and blame any rolling resistance on tires or weight of the wheels.
well it is a czech bike and you see them around here, never heard about creaking in them. To be honest, Superior is probably the best czech brand right now. They do a lot of research and testing before releasing something. I would recommend!
@@RunBikeMike and @ondrejmanych5688 Thanks, looking at for my son who does highschool trail/xc racing. Where we live even XC has a decent amount of technical down hill and uphill so you have to balance a bike that will stay planted against weight and pedal efficiency. He has been doing it on a Sisku D5 (27..5 wheels, medium, Judy Gold, Fox Float 3 pos, micoshift gear set) because that is what he had, but we have discovered it is holding him back and well he also grew a lot this year and now needs to be on a Large heading to a X-large. He has done it it on a borrowed bike and picked up alot of speed and greatly reduced his time. I've got a old Trek on 26 wheels and just got a stumpjumper size S5 on 29 but that is a tad too large for him to ride. A real head to head against another brand or more common bike would be great. Bikes online needs to get this frame into the hands of some reviewers, I'm pretty sure they are selling them below cost to establish a US foot hold and will go up once they have some buy in.
@@RunBikeMike thanks man! I’m 5’10ish” and am strongly considering this bike. Do you feel like you squarely fit the large or do you feel like you could have gone medium? I think at this point the only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger is that I’m waiting for the new Lauf announcement on their first XC bike. Their unveiling is on the 25th.
Are you reading your heart rate from your Apple Watch? I would love to be able to see cadence and heart rate on the ride one up monitor but they seem to have blocked that out from the firmware update.
Looking at the xf 979 tr now. I see the T8 on sale but kinda torn between two. The t8 has better parts and cheaper I believe but do like how the 979 is carbon and lightweight. It's about $400 difference, what's your opinion?
I use 902s on my ebike and the output is only 300lu. will me2000 shine more? because I do not understand what is going on with this 7.9...24W. what is the difference?
Hello RunBikeMike! When would you recommend the Monteer 12000 and when would you recommend the Monteer 8000? Does the 8000 have more good things about it than the 12000?
If you want the longest battery life go 12000. You can run it as bright as the 8000 but get a longer run time. The down fall is the battery is larger and so is the light. If you are not worried about run times and want a more compact design go 8000.
Yes mounting it upside down is not recommended by Magicshine. But I find it works for trail riding for me. It would be best to mount this light right side up.
@@RunBikeMike Thank you for replying. I know it wont regen but I guess I was wondering whether a battery pack can even help...Does it even have USB feeds?
@@RunBikeMike Thank you.....Good review......I ride bikes in general...road and otherwise.....and compared to the BIG Brands this is a cheap and viable alternative.....Ther others just sell names as well. I am not sure whether I like a throttle vs pedal assist for a mixed terrain bike, one that I can casually take on a ppaved path or on a gravel path. I also cannot see if their web site offers different forks, tubeless tires, etc. Obviously compatibility matters.....
