wooly thanks for the great review - how do you compare it to your experience on sub xero - i am trying to figure out which one to buy for summer surfing (usually 1-3ft mushy - thank you
@@Undergroundffn the Monsta 10 needs a good wave to get the most out of it where as the Monsta Box is flatter and will work in sub par conditions. The Monsta Box has been updated and is now the Xero Gravity.
@@Undergroundffn Ha ha sorry mate, I shouldn't reply late at night without my glasses on :). Cant remember exactly as Its been years since I rode the 2020 and I havent ridden the Monsta 10 in over a year but I do remember the 10 being faster and better than the 2020 - it wa definitely an improvement.
Hey compared to the original xero do you think the xero fusion groveled better? Think the xero fusion has less rocker. I have the old Xero, very solid board, but sometimes I don't love it. (Socal surfer here) Thanks!
@@WoolyTV so I end up stopping at the JS surf shop and guess what..they have the same dims as the board you ride although I was eyeing on the 5.9 but they don't have it in stock. I hope it's not too much volume. I'm around 69kg and an ok-ish paddler 😅😅 made a deposit to hold the board for me.🫣🫣
GREAT review! I’ve recently gotten back into paddling out and the other day this kid asked me if I was surfing a skim board! I was kinda thrown back a sec and he was like it’s so thin! Kinda got me thinking! So I’ve started looking for something I can still get some good turns on but also something I can paddle easily ( having a very hard time getting into the waves)! Ran across the Bullseye and the Raging Bull easy rider! The whole liter thing is new to me! So… im actually trying to figure out how many liters my 6’3” Dahlberg is and my 5’8” KSmall! I know now both are too small and I’m actually waiting on an easy rider to come in! I’m thinking I should have went Bullseye and saved the easy rider for a step up. I’m 5’9” 176lbs. Their site said I need at least 33 liters. Does that sound about right to you? Any other tips I’m not thinking of?? Thanks
More foam the better if you are just getting back into it. I use the Easy Rider DIMs a lot so I dont have to go too long to get my volume. The Bullseye is a little older now so would be better to look at other boards like the Ranging Bull and the Xero Gravity.
Thanks for the review. Ive never ridden a JS before, sticking with CI and Lost boards for years. Got my 5' 10" @ 31.3 L and loving it. Super fast with the Futures Large template in it. Loads of pop and just super fun to ride in the waist to head high sessions I've had on it so far.
I did surf it as a quad a few times and it did go very well on that fast left as a quad but overall, in a variety of conditions…….the thruster still wins
Rail work so good. I haven’t seen anyone ripping that hard on vid at urbansurf, except the pros. You’re the only one ive seen getting enough speed out of it to do roundhouse cutties. Was this the advanced setting or intermediate?
@@WoolyTV thanks. I’ve mostly ridden quads and enjoyed the speed. But as my skills have improved that speed has become less critical and so I’m hoping to one day become a ‘thruster guy’ myself so I can enjoy that sweet neutral handling.
Had one since October LY, no dramas at all. I just leave it in a cover when Im not using it. Im still on the same wax job since I got the board AND I did an Indo trip with it.
Its designed as a groveller/step down so it needs a wider nose template. Its not made to be ridden in some of the waves I rode it in and most of those surfs I would have ridden a standard type of daily driver.
@@bryante4074 this one is more versatile than the Flame Fish. The FF is a lot flatter and grovels down to knee high waves. The XF perfect size is waist to head high waves, it does still grovel but not like the FF.
Hey Wooly looks like old video when at the JS Kirra Garage cos they are out of stock of the Red Barons (in the background)... I'm chasing a 5'3" Hy-Fi if you got one over there
Ok.yiou look great on this one.1)how this xero comper to happy every day? 2)did the xero pu can handell 5-6 fit ? it look better than the xero gravity in my opinion ❤
@@soulsurfer3102 Looser through turns and grovelled better than the HE. It would handle head high waves no problem as you can see in the clip. I still prefer the Xero Gravity in shoulder high and above. 🤙
Obviously you stock JS boards so you're unlikely to talk down the board. But how is the deck ? I have the previous hifi construction and it is soft as butter. Deck compressions are ridiculous and my leash cut through the tail in a run of the mill wipeout in 2 foot surf. Its great to have performance but not everyone has the cash to replace a compressed board every 6 months. Regardless, love your videos and content. Keep it up 🤜🏻🤛🏻👍🏻
@@WoolyTV seems like a long rail line for a small wave board, reckon I should grab a normal one at my height (5'10" 180lbs) 5'10" 30.5L or the shorter ez rider version at 5'8" 29.8L? Typically ride around 30 +/- .5 liters
ripping Wooly, maybe the best board I've seen under your feet. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Saw you only filmed a few waves on the P.U. how did it compare to the hifi 3 tech ?
Loving the drone shots , some of the best videography I have yet to see in your reviews .( or maybe it’s been flat here to long ). Surf movie quality. Props to the photographer Getting some blak box 3 vibes from the fusion , are they fairly similar? Thanks for the review wooly , 🤙chew 🤙

hello.i Found second hand monsta box the old version.i never surf ja surfboards.can yiu help me and tell me what the difference between the happy every day to the old monsta box?🎉🎉
I think the Mash Up is more versatile with the 5 fin boxes, the BQ you are stuck with the quad set up. The Mash Up felt very lively compared to the BQ.
Hi Wooly! You convinced me to pull the trigger on the FF as my summer groveller! In the review you mainly rode it as thruster so we didn't see footage of you riding it as a quad. Noel liked the 2+1 and said it lit up as a quad. If possible, can I get quad and 2+1 recommendations from you for this board in FCS2? I am buying a Holy Hypto as a daily driver too (already have a Hypto Krypto but in higher volume for cruising) and know you can play with fins in that board too. Thanks again for your time and the awesome reviews mate. It convinced me on the FF!!!
Wooly, love your channel and positive vibes. How would you compare the Mashup to The Bobby Quad? Looking for a fun small wave/summer board as well something that will go well at BSR. Currently riding a Dominator 2.0 and Seaside.
