Are you wondering how to move to Montana? Are you drawn to the mountains but not quite sure where to begin?
Well, welcome home! You are not alone. If you feel the mountains calling, please reach out. I would be honored to help you find your dream property or just answer any questions you may have. In 2014 my husband and I, along with our two daughters, moved across the country to make our dreams a reality. I know firsthand the excitement, adventure, and uncertainty involved in a move of this magnitude. Having bought our home virtually, I also know the unique components and needs of clients in this situation. If you are considering a move to this beautiful state, be sure to check out my Montana moving guide on RU-vid or my website.

Hey would you do a tour of Whitefish Lake...from the lake sometime? Like go out in a boat around to the different neighborhoods and areas of the lake and video it all from that perspective? Because it's a totally different view and I wanna get an idea of the area from that angle.
Are you folks starting to see what Florida is seeing with mass exodus of those who moved their and basically failed or didn't like it? I'm still waiting for the housing prices to correct, or do you think that will even happen?
That was exceptional ladies. I've hiked down from both rims several times. It's wise to go North Rim to South for sure. The pull up the North Rim is brutal. Never done Rim to Rim in one day though, awesome. Loved following you all. Oldtimer Englishman reliving past adventures with you.
Oh let me add. Only one SUPER market and it’s expensive and the good ol boys won’t let another store in. We have 3 Dollar stores, 12 casinos and 3 pot shops.
I’ve lived here just outside Libby but my address says Libby, for 15 years. The government is as bad and corrupt as any small town. Not outsider friendly. Great medical system, terrible roads. Worse than Mexico. City water is brown. Homes are way overpriced at the moment. I love living here.
Very very few good resturants many of which close at 4 pm. Very few real outdoor enthusiasts. When inclement weather hits there are few people outside . The summer air is heavy with polluted air. Ask about the MIssoula Valley inversion. One of the worst air quality in the US, not kidding. Look up the fires burning around Missoula on September 6- 9, 2024. Suicide rate is sky’s high. They talk about it one thousand times more than anything is done about it. Few people can direct you to a shop or minor street. All of the sequestered and a huge parking lot like the mall where REI is only has 1 constricted entrance and exit. There are few good resturants. There are few Mexican resturants or any foreign resturants as they say in Missoula. Phrases and words used: foreign exchange students, outsiders, ‘outliers (this can include the dogs that outsiders own.) Don’t go to Ravalli County unless you have darkened windows and a veterans’s combat license Montana 0:35 plate. Did I comment on the air quality here? It will choke you. They grandfathered all the crotchety wealthy white Germans so that they can smoke everyone else out because of the casually mentioned. ‘Inversion’. Car car? NO other town does auto repair as expensively and poorly. No extras. No car wash no cleaning the interior no extra sauce of the steering, I have waited at Lithia Ford for 4 hours 3 times just for an oil change. Uncharacteristically I did not complain just to see how long it would take. A manager passed me so many times that He finally told me the service was free. Unfortunately it happened several more times. The university is failing because of their poor service. No one will take responsibility for anything. You will run around the university from administrative department to department without any resolution. Particularly beware of the EEOC office run by an attractive young woman who profiles people and can’t be bothered to help you with anything. To get a clear sense of Montana watch the tragic story of “A River Runs Through It” Missoulans don’t understand the brutality of the story for some reason. A extremely accurate account of the Montana sensibility is “The POwer of the Dog” . These are not nice people here. They double down on their racism and murderous ways. Look at the Native American experience here and the Chinese experience here. Look how extremely xenophobic they are in their RU-vid videos supporting their state.
Thank you for the videos! I'm hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim next month. Your videos were very helpful in making preparations and knowing what to expect 🙂
Hmm, I didn't take note of the room numbers while there. Does anyone else have an opinion they could share? I imagine you could call the lodging and ask. They probably get that question a lot. When are you visiting?
In Chicago, it is illegal to carry a gun at all, and they have the most shootings. So I think a place where almost everyone has a gun and there is little to no crime is best. The alternative? Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, LA, San Francisco, etc.
I do appreciate the detail in explanation of places and stores leaving Phoenix az you give up quite a lot… but it’s worth it can’t stand the 120° anymore 🫠
Haha, I couldn’t hack that heat either. 🥵 My husband always says you can put more clothes on to stay warm but you can’t take your skin off to cool down.
Hi Janet, great to see you and the family. 10 years sure has flown by! We are now four years in North Carolina. My only regret: we didn't move here sooner. Love to you and your beautiful family.
@@RadiantRealty We are in Maggie Valley just west of Asheville. It is a laid back community with friendly people and a hand full of friends from the Stuart - Jensen Beach area that have moved up here as well. After 40 years in Florida it was definitely time to move. We both grew up in Michigan so North Carolina suits us just fine.
@@RonRosenzweig I've been hearing that the homeowner insurance costs in FL have gotten out of control. Sounds like you made the right move. I forgot that you guys grew up in MI also. That's so fun that some friends moved with you as well. :)
The ribeye at the Chop House in Livingston is the best! I have visited the Flathead Valley the last 2 summers and I thought y’all had great shopping. So many cute small businesses.
Yay, I'm glad you enjoyed the shops during your visit. Yes, for tourists I think we definitely have so many cute shops in the various downtowns. Did you have a favorite?
@@rosaesq Montana Scene is a great one and they have locations in Kalispell and Bigfork also. I need to pop into the trading company. It's been awhile. Thanks for sharing. :)
Least favorite thing you forgot to add: realtors still trying to sell our state to out-of-staters looking for second or third homes when people who live here can barely afford it. You seem like a sweet lady and I can't blame you for capitalizing on the rush to move here. It's just frustrating for people who already call this home. My favorite things used to be the small-town feel everywhere you go, the quiet, and the lack of traffic. Those are gone since C19 and the mad flood of people moving here (especially the traffic - it's completely absurd now in the Flathead).
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Mathew. How long have you lived in Montana? The growth is frustrating for many. I don't feel justified complaining since we were also implants a decade ago and are so thankful every day that we get to call Montana home.
Clean air, safe streets, abundant wildlife, snow-capped mountains, friendly people, low taxes, lots of freedoms and liberties.... What more can be said?.... No other state comes close, except maybe Idaho.
This is a cancer cluster folks. I worked here in 2008 to help investigate asbestos from the mines that was spread throughout this city! Do your research before moving.
You can read more about the cleanup here. cumulis.epa.gov/supercpad/SiteProfiles/index.cfm?fuseaction=second.cleanup&id=0801744 I personally don't have experience with it but have spoken in depth with a friend that grew up in Libby, had family members die from contamination, watched the years of cleanup efforts, feels the cleanup was a success and still adores the town and plans to retire there. But.... I think each person needs to decide for themselves what they are comfortable with. Do you have personal experience?
I realize this is very old but if you're thinking of moving here. Don't. We are full. Stay the hell out. Quit making your stupid videos. Shit like this is one reason we are so over crowded. Enough with the Jesus shit as well.
I LOVE this video! It's a perfect example of why ZooTown hasn't been completely overrun by yuppies: a walking tour without all the amazing lore behind our history. I mean, when have you ever seen a video doc of a place with no narration?! Pretty hilarious!
I am not a historian nor do I feel I would do the history justice but if you create a video featuring the history definitely link it here. I would love to watch it. ;) I'm a firm believer in running in your lane so to speak.
Good afternoon. Say I was interested in the Ashley Lake property, are there any jobs in the area that would support that lifestyle? Or must one be independently wealthy to live there?
Great question. It would be tough to find a job here in the valley to support that mortgage especially with the current interest rates. Post covid with all of the home price increases our wages haven't really kept up with the cost of living. But, if you had a good amount down that could be a different story. What is your field of work?
Hey, good to see you again! I was in Bigfork last week, we drove to Columbia Falls to hit the Mudman. I told my wife that I want to be buried in Montana. I said look, there is a graveyard. She said and the house across the street is for sale, you can buy a house and a plot at the same time. Lol
Just stop. Waaaay too much traffic in kalispell. But you’re a realtor, so you don’t care. Like posting “waterfront” when there is a highway in between. Or dozens of pics of water is a listing but then you click satellite image and no water on or near property, but those are the lies you all tell in your pathetic attempt to sell and pocket cash… it’s always about money…just stop…
Temperature went from 37 on the rim to around 90 ar fantom ranch. Pretty good, maybe could have weathered a light freeze on the rim to be more tolerable.
When I lived in Libby in the 1960’s I had a teacher named Cantrell at Asa Wood Junior High. He had two crutches and leg braces but got around very well. Any relation?
Training for a one day Rim to Rim this Fall. Never been to the canyon. It is a bucket list item! Celebrating my 65th birthday and retirement. I am nervously excited! This video was amazing! Did you go North to South or South to North? Trying to get as much “visual as I can of what to expect! Thanks for helping with that! I have subscribed and will watch more videos! 🙌👍👍❤️
That's amazing Maggie. Happy upcoming birthday and retirement! I honestly don't remember now, but I know we discuss the logistics in one of these playlist videos. Let us know how it goes! ru-vid.com/group/PLK4ykjJE40GFODnW1Xh5BK6y9M5lj8RbY
