I remember the day I first time I met H. M. The Queen, H. R. H. Prince Philip and H. M. Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. They did a walkabout and shook our hands. What a gracious, beautiful & sincere Lady!! I still cry for my Queen 2 years on now. I truly miss her especially now that I live across the pond. I'll get back soon and visit her tomb with flowers for her, her mum, King George VI and Prince Philip!! Dr. G.
Since when has any royal marriage been out of love or romance? Very few. Mostly they are for dynastic reasons, financial as well as making alliances. Sometimes the couples do fall in love, or at least come to love and esteem each other.
I'm a huge fan of Gloria Estefan. I used to live in Miami (born there and moved when I was nearing my mid 30's). I became a member of a fan club (now a Facebook page) called Conga On Line. In 2003 the fan site had a get together in Miami. We toured their business office, hotel, restaurants, and even their recording studios. We were about to go to 8th street (to see their star on the latin version of the walk of fame) when one of the organisers of the get together said that we were going to their restaurant Bongos Cuban Cafe at (what was at that time called American Airlines Area). When we got there Gloria was waiting inside the restaurant and me with over 80 fans. She was going on vacation with her family but, decided to spend 3 hours taking pictures and signing autographs with the fans. This happened during spring break 2003. I've met her personally now at least 7 times. She's so nice. One of the nicest things that she's done (and her husband also) was let us hear some audio clips of her American Standards album months before it was released. While that was happening her husband comes into the studio and invites the fans to a private party the very next day at the Bongos Cuban Cafe at the Seminole Hard-rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida (which the Cuban restaurant is no longer there). When the fans got there all our names were on the vip list. The event wasn't just a private event..... It was Emilio's 60th birthday!!!!! OMG!!!! Now that's really being nice to the fans. That happened in 2013. What an awesome experience. No other person (that I can recall) that's know has ever invited their fans to their birthday party. The Estefan's are the nicest people that you can meet that are famous. There is no ego, no narcissism, not self absorbed (as other well known people can be), etc. Just plain nice!!! Love them!!!!!
