Beautiful place! Came from Ireland to spend our Honeymoon here in 2008. Even made it into this promotional video. Just discovered the video, brought back so many fantastic memories. Would love to return here one day with the kids.
This brought tears to my eyes. As a person who was born in PE that now lives in Cape Town I feel like the whole name change will be erasing my city from the world. The city that I am so proud to call my home. The city that taught me that everyone has a place under the South African sun. I have no gripes with the name change I just wish that they keep it as Port Elizabeth, the friendly and windy city. We never really realized what power and beauty the name had until now. The history that is tied to the name is and was never meant to be oppressive. Sir Donkin named it after his wife because Port Elizabeth's beauty reminded him of her, Lady Elizabeth. I wish that PE could have had 100 more years as a city. I truly wish that they consider keeping the name as the city was named out of love and not hate. See you soon Port Elizabeth.

Not that great a video - too repetitive and jumbled. You also neglected to include one of the best art museums in South Africa, whilst you show numerous pics of shopping malls and food - no man get your act together
Miss the days when PE actually looked clean and was safe. Now its a breeding ground for criminals who gets away with all sorts of crime. Thanks to the ANC for making our city a mess and our country, Hope the DA restores it to what the city use to be.

great video, sardinia bay is another beautiful beach and the schoenies walk. Just got to love that they build a multi million museum amongst the township. Why not build the residents houses there at the same time. It's what they were promised 25 years ago...
Mfan wakhe I lived there for 15 years and have numerous friends still in PE. All of them are either starting a conspiracy or have something else in common. Oh wait, they're all white... prime targets I guess. My old neighbourhood of Mill Park which never new any crime has seen a surge of violent house breakings and rape cases. Sorry, I love PE but I won't be told it's a SA safe haven. That would be disingenuous.
Mfan wakhe Permanent residents for over 25 years vs your trip the weekend? I'm supposed to take that as gospel? I visit PE from time to time and have a pleasant time, but I limit my experiences due to the crime factor which does take away from the experience. Actually, stuff it, just google the crime stats and safety perceptions. The stats are there, free of emotion and race.

Great! The gentleman who does the voice-over must be Afrikaans. Especially to Dutch and Belgian visitors, it would be attractive to have the same video spoken in Afrikaans.
