Thank you for taking the time to try each method on different types of thread and different amounts of strands. This is so helpful in explaining why sometimes using method 2, my knots are good and sometimes they seem not to work. I am going to start using method 1! Thanks so much! :)
Personally I like the reverse more, but I still havent found a perfect way to connect the line with continuity if the thread finishes before the line is concluded. You can tell where the starting anchor stitch is if you look closely. Any ideas?

I'd never heard of a Colonial Knot before today. I was searching for a refresher on making French Knots and saw something about them on a blog somewhere and then I ended up here. I like it!👍 Ironically , it reminds me of the weird way I tie my bread bags. LOL! Thanks for sharing!😊
