Great vid. They all sound really good. The USA and the maple neck sound pretty close, although the latter seems a hair lighter somehow. The one with the Japanese pickups definitely has a brighter, almost cleaner sound. Sweet. The other two have more warmth. Very, very nice guitars. I own an 83' Squier, 62 reissue with the US pick ups. She's gorgeous, always gets compliments and people are amazed at her tone. I'll never sell her. 😂

Fantastic playing man. Do you know what the differences are with a 59-70, 59-75 compared to a 59-100? Im just learning of the greco lp copies. Im really interested in the models that are built with a long/deep neck tenon. Do you know which models are made with a deep neck tenon?
@yoctanuri
@yoctanuri 5 месяцев назад
Thank you. First, I think that most of the mint collection series were made with long tenon neck joints. The differences between the numbers were the pickups, and sometimes the number of mahogany woods glued together. The higher the number usually the better the guitar.. But not always😂

the top of the line mint collection les pauls are a little bit better than the egf1800. the egf has a short neck tenon but the mints have the long tenon. unfortunately, they usually only have one dry z and the other is a dry 1982. I've never played the dry 1982, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's as good as if not better than the dry z, but the dry z was made in limited numbers so the value is much higher. 1982 Mint collection with 2 dry z's are really rare. I have a 1983 with two dry z's, but they put dry 1982 stickers on them though they have the dry z stamps dating them to 1981.

It's not a common match.. some will love it and some won't.. Greenback is the more common speaker that can suit this amp.. I think Blue is a special speaker.. I like it.

So, I’m about to purchase this amp but completely naïve to this setup. Does adding the 4x12 (or even a 2x12) make this gigable? Even if just as a suitable monitor for myself and miced through PA. How much of a volume increase do the added speakers give you?
@yoctanuri
@yoctanuri 8 месяцев назад
Hi. You will be amazed to know how much volume you'll get when plugging this amp to a 412... If you want to get the clean sound only, then maybe not as much volume. But soon as you start to crank this puppy... You can even gig with this setup without micing... I will recommend trying it out before if it's possible.. just make sure that your 412 or 212 is a 16 Ohm cabinet, because that's the only option you have..

It’s certainly different, the original has a nice woody rasp to it when driven though. The vtype was better clean
@aidanduncan8187
@aidanduncan8187 8 месяцев назад
Just listened again and while I think the vtype rips for rythem and fit grind. The VX just has such a woody, fat and expressive lead sound, makes you pay differently too! Does the original feel different? Looser?

Just bought a 80s (year unknown, yet) Japanese black / maple Squier Strat, in Australia. Set up perfect, body paint worn some w crackled paint & battle scars. Best playing & sounding guitar I own, by far! A 80s Tele came up in a search for 80s Jap Tele. Bloke pulled it down cos he advertised it for $150 Australian. Hope he puts it back up. I'd pay $400 cos it's a wreck. Thinks he can get $1,500. Pffft.

Of course, the Gibson R8 sounds oilier, its lower mids are very good and therefore it will be clearly heard in a pack of instruments at a live concert with a band! I choose the Gibson R8! The Greco is somewhere close to it in terms of sound, but lacks the elasticity and massiveness of the sound, like the Gibson guitar in this video has. Peace and quality music to everyone!

Man! That VT Junior 10 sounded incredible! Tasteful playing all the way around… I just ordered a VT 10 for my Princeton Reverb. Seems smooth, warm, and percussive, yet still snappy and chimey, nice sparkle on top. Plus, the magnet weighs twice as much as the stock Jensen C10R, so I’m looking forward to a bit more efficiency and headroom. Fantastic video. Thanks
