Why is it that most pool builders don't actually build pools but manage subs ? Why can't a builder do it turn key if that builder has the equipment and labor skill ?
Shotcrete is stronger than gunite and the pool shell is half assed and at least make it look good for the video and I have been doing Shotcrete for 26 years and I am just saying that it is shitty work

Horizontal Lap splices must be non contact with 2.5" spacing to meet building code specs for adequate shotcrete bar encasement , I would have never sign this reinforcement off if I was inspecting your pool.
Its not rocket science some of these pool builders are as bright as a burnt out light bulb lol! Built 180k pool for just under just under 80k with all the fixings, just find the right LICENSED contractors. Buy your own equipment and accessories you can build a nice pool for less then a new car.... And remember you don't pay for quality, quality pays you.....
ALL companies for Pools In USA don't have any idea how system work. , they use Subcontractors, to make all... And they just collect a lot of money ..Easy Money for them.
And This is How your Pool REACH High price because all People in the Middle doing Nothing just try to pay as less Money for Subcontractor and Get the Most profit each project just talking and walking.
I live in a HOA neighborhood with concrete privacy walls in the backyard. Is it possible to get the excavation equipment back there without taking down the concrete walls?
All depends if you home has space in between the actual house and the fence on the sides , is usually a 5 ft set back for that and is barely enough to have a really small excavator in
I notice most pools are constructed with 1 layer of rebars elevated a few inches above ground. Is it much better to do 2 layers of rebar with vertical spacing be like 8" apart? This way the top layer of concrete also has reinforcements to reduce cracks. What about layering a wire mesh later above the bottom layer of rebar and another top layer of rebars. I think this would like about 14" thick of shotcrete. More expensive but probably never break or crack.
aside from the multiple issues of plumbing. (which is insane). like seriously this is a plumbing joke. The electrical lines being placed on top of any water line is completely out of code in any state and is a total hazard. Here in texas you need a minimum of 12 inches of soil between any electrical and water line. Please do not listen to this idiot for your own saftey.
Poor placement of sub-panel directly in front pumps. PIA to access for servicing. The sub-panel placed to one side of the pad allows for better access to pumps and other equipment. Same with deck boxes for pool lights.
Hi, Question, currently have a new pool being built. They finished the shotcrete and did noticed that the umbrella hole looks like it goes beyond the concrete, noticed it when I was watering the shotcrete down seeing the water going down fairly fast (does not hold water) Should I be concerned about that and if so whats the best way to fix that with epoxy or add some concrete?
