Amazing story. It’s a real shame that the person that posted this would taint the entire video with WORSHIP 101 in the middle of the screen. All about that almighty $$$ for some people.
I am dismayed. How is that book NOT a movie yet? Im going to have lots of fun making that one. The more the devil tries to stop me, the more important will be to me to make.
2:46 I just compared this version of the first verse with the original and I must say it is excellent; it is a literal translation and still sounds poetic and beautiful to my German ears....
Partially inaccurate. Thomas Ken's memorial did indeed take place at sunrise. Appropriately they sang his Morning Hymn, not just the last stanza. Awake, my soul, and with the sun Thy daily stage of duty run; Shake off dull sloth, and joyful rise, To pay thy morning sacrifice. Thy precious time misspent, redeem, Each present day thy last esteem, Improve thy talent with due care; For that great day thyself prepare. By influence of Light divine Let thy own light to others shine. Reflect all Heaven’s propitious ways In ardent love, and cheerful praise. In conversation be sincere; Keep conscience as the noontide clear; Think how all seeing God thy ways And all thy secret thoughts surveys. Wake, and lift up thyself, my heart, And with the angels bear thy part, Who all night long unwearied sing High praise to the eternal King. All praise to Thee, who safe has kept And hast refreshed me while I slept Grant, Lord, when I from death shall wake I may of endless light partake. Lord, I my vows to Thee renew; Disperse my sins as morning dew. Guard my first springs of thought and will, And with Thyself my spirit fill. Direct, control, suggest, this day, All I design, or do, or say, That all my powers, with all their might, In Thy sole glory may unite. I would not wake nor rise again And Heav’n itself I would disdain, Were Thou not there to be enjoyed, And I in hymns to be employed. Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Praise be to God for this hymn. It is like a fountain flowing from a hard rock....This hymn has the power to draw the heater NEAR to GOD, just as we are! Charlotte will be praising God in heaven, everytime a soul turns and is drawn to the LORD while this hymn is sung! To God be all glory. In Jesus name. Amen!
Confused by why did you leave out the part about St. Patrick being a Catholic bishop? I feel leaving out the part or him being Catholic waters down the history of St. Patrick.
Additionally, St. Patrick is not the only missionary that has a celebrated holiday on a global scale. In the Catholic Church St. Patrick's feast day is celebrated on March 17th that just happens to be adopted into the nonChristian/secular world (just like St. Valentine, St. Nicholas) but there are many more missionary saints like him celebrated throughout the world such as St. Mother Theresa, St. Francis Xavier, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Ignatius of Loyola, and many more on their designated feast days. I am not trying to be antagonistic, but I do feel that St. Patrick was misrepresented in your video (maybe unintentionally) but it is important to be honest with reporting historical information.

This hymn has such rich lyrics - wisdom - and the melody is so light and free. I love it! GOD bless you 101...I'm always looking forward to more of your videos.
It’s called Entire Sanctification. A pure heart. The second blessing. Holiness. It’s something that takes place after being Born Again. Seek it with all your heart.
@@leemacpeek2698 Yes, all of us are sinners but we do have a Savior, His name is Jesus and when we turn our eyes to Him we have hope in His glory and grace.
@@Worship101HymnStories yes, the story behind the song is so important and to the young immigrants of that day coming to Young America. And Grace was free in the ears of someone coming from the Roman Catholic Church could instantly set them free with a Revelation of the grace of God through Jesus Christ
Thank you for sharing the classic hymns with your home school group. The younger generation needs to understand the depth and meaning that these hymns contain.
Great! We actually have a course called Hymnody 101 that does exactly that. It starts with Old Testament songs and goes all the way to contemporary music of today. You can check it out at www.grace101.org. A church or home school group sponsorship would give you full access to the course and all other Grace Ministries materials. The In Search of the Heroes movies are also very popular with home school groups. @@ashleypenn7845
Is it the same as saying it is good for my soul or would it be more like it is okay with my soul. Not necessarily good but okay with my soul. I'm a little confused
Charles Fry, who wrote this hymn, was born at Alderbury, Wiltshire. After marrying, he lived in a cottage that he himself had built and this hymn was inspired by the view from a back bedroom window. Looking down the valley, he could sees the river Avon and, beyond the river, Longford Castle. With the sun shining in the right direction, Charles Fry saw this as a vision of Heaven beyond the Jordan and, yes, wild lilies still grow in the valley behind the cottage to this very day. During the 1960s and early 1970s, my maternal uncle owned the cottage, and my aunt-in-law was related to the Fry family. My maternal grandparents, great aunts and uncles, and great-grandparents all knew Charles Fry and his three sons.
