Okay, okay, oaky....call me strange, but all my life I've thought of regular lava as Orange Jello, and this odd part of me wants to eat it. I can't be the only one. THEN - I learn about this stuff and it looks like mud. In all honesty, I just want to play in the stuff.

Well, if someone who didn't know much about volcanoes were to watch this, they'd be wondering why someone had filmed a black mud volcano or some very dirty water instead of red hot lava! If you could have favourite volcanoes, Ol Doinyo Lengai would be one of mine. I think its because its so unlike regular volcanoes that makes it so special for me: hot black lava that runs only a little more thickly than water, and cools down to a white solid. Also, the lava seems to foam as it gushes out of the vent, like a very thin mud flow, which, of course, it isn't.
