Don was so emotional giving that eulogy. He recently lost another good friend and collaborator, Dicky Betts, who Tubbs also mentioned while going through Sonny's cassette collection ☹
I was there. It was incredibly awesome. The crowd just blew me away. Walking into the place and looking at the crowd I thought they were gonna be pretty mellow. Boy, was I wrong on that. The crowd was wild. People were on their feet dancing and singing the whole show. It was just like a concert. BUT, it was just a film. Absolutely amazing. I had a great time.
I was there. Immediately after it was over he booked it off stage, it was actually kinda funny. Wish he had waited to shake the moderator’s hand like the rest of the group but he probably did it afterwards. Also it was late so he might’ve just been tired. 🤷♀️
I really hate to say this about Zac Brown, but is there anyone out there who can remember that 2/3rds of this melody is from “The Age of Innocence” by Don Henley ? Just look up the many renditions on YT. I tried to find it on morning TV with Jackson Browne, Shawn Colvin, David Lindley and many many others , all big names but it is no longer available. I’m not a fan a Henley, but this is probably his best.
This is brilliant! Ms. Warwick you are an ICON. Your artistry and talent will always be present. I’m so blessed to have been alive during your lifetime. Thank you so much.
