Live 12.1's new note selection option makes this fairly easy: 1. select desired notes by pitch class, then 2. apply our Tether note tie randomizer :)

@@manifestaudio thx, sure but this takes too long, for any reasonable amount of pitch classess - I am hoping for a transformer.
@manifestaudio
@manifestaudio 2 месяца назад
@@CliffScherer I don't understand: even in the Transformation you describe, you would still have to define your pitch class (select a specific note or range of notes) - so I don't think it would necessarily take longer; also, any MIDI Transformation can already be applied to a specific note selection, which could be pitch-based, simply by selecting those notes with your mouse - to select all notes on a certain key, you can also just click the key on the note ruler and then apply the Tether or other Transformation only to those selected notes. Apologies if I've misunderstood what you're looking for - but if not, I think most of the functionality you want already exists.

Is Global Hub now completely useless with live 12 ?
@manifestaudio
@manifestaudio 5 месяцев назад
Fair question. But no, not at all! While it's no longer *necessary* to keep our devices in the scale and key of your set, it allows you to control for non-Ableton scales, randomize the scale, key, time signature, BPM, and swing of your project, randomize Manifest Audio device settings, and also control swing, transposition, and octave of all Manifest Audio devices in your project. So while the need it was developed for is no longer quite so pressing as of Live 12, Global Hub is far from useless! ☺
@tobytodelafontena
@tobytodelafontena 5 месяцев назад
This is sounding random music, whatever "control tools" feed the randomness. I don't say it's bad, I only say you can't hide the randomness of the results.
@manifestaudio
@manifestaudio 5 месяцев назад
Sure, the purpose of this demo is to show some of the chaotic potential of this device. Naturally, it is entirely possible to use Pattern Engine without any randomization at all if you want. However, the entire point of this powerful sequencer is the enormously high degree of control it provides over its extensive randomization features, harnessing random algorithms deliberately and with purpose to generate compelling new musical ideas that would otherwise be difficult to access.

Headrush abandoned it's Looperboard users who helped them through beta testing arrive at a usable product. Unfortunately, use of sub standard switches and electronic components forced Headrush to make the decision to redesign their flagship Looper to function properly on a hardware level. Their actual software is almost identical in features to it's predecessor, demonstrating that they knew their unit had design flaws. Buyer beware. Headrush is a terrible company who doesn't care about their products or clientele.

Hello, is there any chance you upgrade this to be trainable, like Dubler? :) Especially for drum mode, training is essential to get the desired results. So certain beatbox sounds will result in specific midi notes, like c1, d1 etc. (Freely chooseable to trigger Kick, Snare, Hihat, ride midi notes) Your plugin looks really good for anything with monophonic melodies, but without it recognizing at least my Beatboxing Kick, Snare, Hihat sounds, it's impossible to use for triggering drumracks in a live performance. EDIT: Maybe it isnt even necessary to include a train function, at least for the most basic drumsounds Kick, Snare, Hihat. Because as the Ableton internal solution shows, it's possible to automatically translate the 3 basic drum sounds. Quote "One impressive part of converting audio to midi in Ableton is that you don’t have to train the software. The algorithm will automatically detect low impact sounds as a kick, snappy “t” sounds as a snare, and hissy “s” sounds as a hi hat. " i envision having the same thing for live performance
@manifestaudio
@manifestaudio Год назад
Hi there! Adding a training function would require a completely different architecture and ultimately, a different device, rebuilt from the ground up - which is not currently on our road map. However, we're always excited to find creative solutions to user scenarios. So a possible solution to your beatboxing request could be to stack multiple instances of X-Translate in an Audio Effect Rack, then dial individual input frequency ranges and threshold settings to each instance of X-Translate to respond appropriately to your different beatboxing sounds - with each of course set to output your desired corresponding MIDI note. Results may vary, but in theory this should work! 😊

Yesterday after the 343 Labs session bought the Ultra bundle, fantastic devices! In the end I think I can figure out how it all works, but the thing that just keeps puzzling me is the dice logo 😀🤔
@manifestaudio
@manifestaudio Год назад
Hi! So glad you're enjoying our devices. 😊 Wherever you see the Dice icon, you can click it to randomize a parameter (or in some cases, a set of parameters). On Global Hub specifically, it allows you to randomize any unlocked parameters; by default, this is the scale and key, allowing you to easily experiment with a new musical starting point - but you could unlock BPM or even time signature as well if you want to try a completely new feel for your project. And remember: whenever you're in doubt, just open Live's Info View (via the reveal toggle in the lower left corner of Live's interface) and hover your mouse over any Manifest Audio parameter or icon for an explanation of what it does, built right into Live! 💫
@kozepz
@kozepz Год назад
@@manifestaudio Hi, yeah just finished the Learn video's, so much information and inspiration. The comment about the dice was actually a joke. The numbers on the opposite sides of a die add up to 7. In the logo of the bottom die of the Global Hub, 6 and 1 are visible next to each other. Vegas randomness perhaps 😀

@manifestaudio Год назад
Hello Alain, so sorry you've experienced this bizarre issue! Subtraction Engine is indeed fully functional in Live 11.2, as advertised. However, it appears you purchased this device through Isotonik, so there could be some issue with the ALP you downloaded from them; that said, the Isotonik pack also installs perfectly in Live 11.2 over here. So I wonder if the pack file you downloaded got corrupted somehow? At any rate - now that you've installed it in your Library from Live 10, can you access the Subtraction Engine pack in Live 11's Packs area of the Browser, and bring it into a Live 11 set from there? If not, please reach out through our technical support form and we can happily supply you with an AMXD file of the device that will definitely function without issue in Live 11.2: manifest.audio/technical-support - or, alternatively, try re-downloading the ALP from Isotonik and see if you have better luck.

Hey Alain, sorry for the delay I wanted to undergo further testing on more than just the systems I have to hand, unfortunately after numerous tests we can’t reproduce the issue you’ve experienced. @@manifestaudioThe modular approach across your M4L devices and their interconnectivity make a lot of sense, and hence it's great for picking up matching modules for individual user needs. It's a growing environment, not just a random assembly of individually cool devices, which is very beneficial. There might be reasons why Manifest Audio isn't as popular as it should be, but my very unbiased reaction when encountering your devices for the first time was: damn, this makes so much sense. Hope to see further development in the sequencer realm of Pulse Engine, Octopulse, and Pattern Engine - and would highly suggest offering them within a more attractively priced bundle.

This is really neat. Is it possible to merge from multiple x-relay instances at the same time? For instance, can I put an x-relay device on multiple MIDI tracks, select Relay 1 for each of those instances, then receive all of the MIDI tracks sending on Relay 1 to a single x-relay Node device in merge mode? Thanks!
@manifestaudio
@manifestaudio Год назад
Hi Richard - you can absolutely merge multiple MIDI streams into a single Relay conduit. The only limitation is the polyphony of the instrument(s) it's being fed to. However, merging multiple MIDI streams may also result in more frequent stuck notes as MIDI note on-off messages could lose their pairings in a particularly busy MIDI stream. Anyway, good luck, experiment & have fun!

Some feedback from (still only) potential customer: you guys make incredible stuff, but it’s hard to understand what is it for. Even if I get excited about a feature (“I could use this do that…”) I immediately get discouraged by how complex it is to accomplish. For me it’s too many features in a singe device. More modular devices would be easier to use. I could use just one feature but as it is there are 20 other features that I don’t need and that’s overwhelming. This tutorial alone is 20 minutes long, I forgot all the exciting things I could do with the device before the video finished. Another thing: the drums are distracting, I get it that some features are easier to hear when a beat plays along, but does the beat has to be so intense? I tried to follow the explanation while listening hard to what actually happens with the music, and it’s not easy to follow. Next, the video starts with a very basic use case, I watched the whole thing only because I know that you guys can make some amazing stuff, but I expect that most people will leave. If you want to sell this, put some exciting sound examples at the beginning. It took like 10 minutes to get to the part which really tells what this device is really for. I hope you don’t take this as a totally negative criticism, because your devices are quite amazing, but the presentation is not giving them justice. Last thing: why does your page has this dark gray background and the text is so small? Impossible to read on a mobile device. Cheers!
@manifestaudio
@manifestaudio Год назад
Hi Artur! Thank you for this thoughtful comment. In general, we seek to provide integrated solutions so that producers don't need to reach for a different device every time they seek a different function - but obviously many producers as you say prefer dedicated devices for dedicated functions! That's admittedly not been our approach, but we appreciate your feedback. :) As for X-Relay, there are indeed other, simpler MIDI bus network devices out there - but what sets X-Relay apart from them is its advanced multi-functionality, such as the Gate and Side modes, though it can be used for much simpler aims as well. Please also bear in mind, X-Relay is essentially a free device if you have already purchased any of our other tools, and as such is designed primarily to add value to our existing customers and product line - and also pave the way for some future (simpler) products too. :)
