Isn't it kinda weird that Koga doesn't have Arbok? Speaking of which, here's my take on what Koga's team would be if he's the last Gym Leader. - Weezing - Muk - Venomoth - Golbat - Arbok - Tentacruel I think Gengar wouldn't fit because it's more 👻 than poison
That first scenario, tho Announcer: And here we have an absolutely brutal battle unfolding: Caterpie against Weedle! This is truly a Pokémon battle to the death. Caterpie used Tackle! That's gotta hurt! Weedle used Tackle as well! It's just as powerful! *Five hours later* Our two combatants continue to keep using Tackle against each other... eventually, one will go down... in a few hours... hopefully...
Mostly a pretty standard moveset. This cup is essentially Gen 1 OU as it was in the late '90s, featuring a lot of Hyper Beams, some Pokémon with Toxic and Double Team, and tons of Starmies.
"Fr haha, even after all these years, I’m still surprised! The player rarely gets this much luck, and the AI usually haxes the heck out of this game to the point it’s frustrating at times."
That was a good battle👍. If Erika was the last gym leader, her team would be this: - Venusaur - Parasect - Exeggutor - Victreebel - Tangela - Vileplume Not to fond of adding a starter Pokémon like Venusaur, but why not
The New World has a made up language, the Shiver Star level select has a "no trespassing" sign written in English. Shiver Star is Earth, and the New World plays into the (fringe) theory that humans aren't originally from Earth (think something like Battlestar Galactica).
If Lt. Surge was the final Gym Leader, his team would be this: Electrode X2 Magneton Jolteon Electabuzz Raichu (with Surf) No Zapdos because it's a rare Pokémon and is a hard catch
This game really is just rigged until you've played enough then the game accepts you're better and lets you win, even on Poke Ball difficulty the AI will just spam cheap moves cuz it can't outplay you fairly
I guess I wanted to give some spotlight to Nidoran Female AKA the Male one never showed up in the wild lol. Also, I didn’t heal to at least make this battle a tad bit more challenging, but alas… it’s still a ludicrously easy battle as long as you don’t use Pikachu.
Imagine Brock as the 8th Gym Leader. I believe his team would be - Onix - Golem - Aerodactyl - Rhydon - Omastar - Kabutops That would be a formidable team
Pokémon yellow best Gen 1 game ever! Using the Gen 1 starters with a Pikachu, and facing Jessie and James! The sprites in this game is so much better than Red and Blue!
Saw the hyper beam glitch. It would've been nice if the english version let you move again if you knocked the pokemon out with it. And even if you miss with it you can still move again. That was real nice.
I think the Hyper Beam glitch would have made the Pokémon Stadium metagame too degenerate and unstable. The meta would literally revolve around this glitched move, just like in RBY, because the move didn’t even work as intended. I think it’s fun to use this glitch in this version of the game, but I’m glad it was fixed in the international version.
Pikatarou being level 5 caught me off guard, but iirc the teams listed in the touraments here were based off of like, the top 8 (32? for 30-cup) of heir respective leagues at the time, right? You'd probably get a lot of filler and casualness out of it especially for a strictly home based Gen 1 format. Also, sheesh, that Snorlax in battle 2 is really hoping it can get a Rage sweep off. Not a very smart move imo.
Poké Cup Monster Ball is like a walk in the park. The upcoming cups are more difficult. However, I must say that the true challenge lies in the Level 50-55 division-that cup is Gen 1 OU as it was back in the late '90s.
@@ChrisPTY507 Ah, yeah, I remember that part. Everyone in 55 loves to spam Jynx. If it's not Jynx, it's Starmie or Articuno. Lots of gen 1 freeze hacks.
@@SuicuneRider The RBY OU of the late '90s saw a lot of Starmies, Jolteons, and Zapdos being spammed. Spoiler alert, but those will be among the Pokémon most commonly seen throughout that cup. It gets a bit repetitive, but I understand it to a degree because the pool of available Pokémon in this version of the game is much smaller than in the international release.
@@chromidius5339 Yea the animations are not that different.I must say that this version of Pokémon Stadium keep some of the glitches of RBY such as the Hyper Beam glitch.
It would have been really cool if Banjo as the computer was programmed to start the boost in Star city so he could try winning in that race track like how he's programmed to win in Spacedust alley.
I didn't know there were specific characters programmed to win certain courses when played by the AI. I figure it's like every character is programmed to win a particular course, almost like having a "favorite racer" on each track. Where did you learn about this? I'd like to know more, especially if it's true.
@@ChrisPTY507 I just remembered from back in the day when I used to play this game that if you pressed the boost at the start in trophy race (or in a regular race), certain characters will press the blue boost for certain courses. I.e all of the courses in snowflake mountain trophy race, if you hit the boost at the start of the race and the boost becomes blue, then T.T, Diddy and Banjo are programmed to hit the blue boosters and have a high chance of winning in those specific tracks.
@@AA-gm6xo Didn't knew that back in the day. Thanks for sharing, I thought the characters programmed to hit the boost were chosen at random on any course.
idk, I was weirded out when that happened tbh. I'm surprised that the next turn continued as usual without much delay in choosing my next move because I remember spacing out, wondering why the third Amnesia failed...
Yeah, and the fact it was a critical hit. I'm not sure a normal explosion would've been enough. Secondly, why is it Snorlax could learn self-destruct normally but not explosion? Because it would mess up the metas?
