Hi there! Since I didn't even know the integra 7 I had to look it up. Seems to be a premium variant of the digital parts of the JD-Xi in rack format. Thinking about your question I came to that the answer is no. The JD-Xi can't load any samples or more synth engines or whatsoever, it has no Roland Aira support as far as I remember so you have to work with what's already onboard. BUT since the two digital parts of the JD-Xi are extremely powerful engines, made of the supernatural sound engine from Roland, you can create a universe of different sounds with it, although it's quite complicated to do so. The unofficial Editing tool that exists helps make it easier to accomplish that. Each digital part is made of three layers, and each of those layers can be tweaked to whatever you like with different oscillators (pcm or "analog" waveforms) with separated amp and Filter envolopes, it's a blast! Of course there are limitations but the possibilities are endless. And with 128 polyphony you really can do a lot. JD-Xi is love 💕 Thanks for your comment and have fun making music, greetings, Henne!
the synth sounds coming from the novation don't fit. Unless I'm seeing or hearing this wrong. It's the sound that is similar to a throat of a male voice droning on, whatever or wherever that sound is coming from is not appealing and does not usually appear in most music.
First i want to thank you for taking the time to comment, i really appreciate that! The sound you describe is coming from the Monologue and i think you are right, i should have used something else. Since i just recently sold the Novation Circuit Tracks and bought a Digitakt 2 i won't be able to fix that but hey, that's what it's about, trying Out new Things, making mistakes and getting better while making them. Again thank you for sharing your thoughts, i enjoyed thinking about it ❤️
@@henne7264 digitakt II, good choice, stereo. I can understand why you would sell the novation, I own a novation and it is dissatisfying at times. I don't know why the brand underachieves so often. From what I can see the monologue sounded good.
I'm impressed how you can squeeze out of it what others can't do with computers and expensive synthesisers. Master, release a video with detailed work on creating a track and explaining what you're doing. Thank you
Hi there, i am using Ableton so it could be done, problem is my very limited time for making music, i have too much other stuff to do like caressing three kids beneath having a regular daytime job. I could nevertheless try to do it, time will tell! Thank you so much for your comment, lots of love and greetings, henne!
Ouahou j'adore superbe son ❤ je vais m'amuser à essayer de faire le même genre mais pour l'instant je galère pas mal 😅 J'ai cru capter que tu utilise à chaque fois le truc des 8 barres !
Moin Henne. So, wollte mal Feedback geben.
Very interesting! One curiosity I have about this new Circuit Tracks is the sampling possibilities. I've heard that it now has a dedicated storage option, with an extra card. But I'm not sure if this video only uses its sounds or if it has some Korg samples. In fact, it would be great to know how many seconds per sample it supports, if it seeds short samples of beats, or if I can record samples of instrument sounds synchronised with it. Or even if I can import samples from the computer onto the card to use with it. Maybe it has some standardised bit and Hz to accept files from outside. Well done!
Very cool! I need a groove/beat box to synchronise with my JDXA. I'm in doubt between JDXi and Circuit Traks, to make the musical base. Which one makes it easier to create music and has a better set of features for creating tracks?
Hello there and sorry for the delayed answer! I have thought about your questions and the answer is actually hard to tell, but for making tracks i would say go for the Circuit. The JD-Xi with its 64 steps makes it hard to create full tracks, it is better suited for single patterns. The Workflow of both devices is quite different, you should think about what suits you more. The Circuit lets you sequence other gear like your JD-Xa so the track making potential is better i would say. The drum section of the JD-Xi is awesome and powerful when it comes to sound design or polyphony but limited in sequencing and mixing. Both devices have their pros and cons but both are great! Just ask me If you have any more questions, greetings Henne!
@@henne7264 Hi Henne, don't worry about the delay in getting back to me. I really appreciate what you've said. As I have JDXA integrateds with a LoopStation 505MK2 in my setup, I believe that this Boss calculates the clock to keep everything synchronised, either via the Xi or the Circuit. But the Xi's only real appeal is its historic Roland drum kit and polyphony. So if I don't fall for this temptation, where I live the values are similar, and the benefits tend more towards Circuit Tracks. I'd be grateful if you could produce more videos with him on how to synchronise setups. Cheers and good work!
Thanks a lot and let me please say that i really feel honored! So glad you feel that way i had tons of fun making this today and never forget, Music is love!
Thanks a lot for your comment! If i remember correctly i used iZotope Ozone 10 (lite) in Ableton Live for mastering and the result sounds great for me too! Of course the magic is done by the JD-Xi 🤩
I really hope you can take something useful with you, thank you so much for your comment, good luck. If you have any questions then do not hesitate to ask them, have fun!
@@henne7264 Thanks, watched half so far and learnt loads! Will tackle the 2nd half tonight as I got carried away making some beats far too late at night 😆
likes that. especially the really 80’s synth line with the mod wheel twiddle at end of pattern. you dont often see a jdxi as part of a bigger rig so thats good to see its use there. were all the synths midi’ed up and what was acting as master tempo for the song? what sequencer was playing the cobalt and monologue? i know circuit tracks has 2 midi channels but the jdxi can possibly play 3 synths externally if you consider its fixed sequencer channels (synth 1= ch1, syn 2= ch2, analog syn= ch3). i cant remember if you mute the internal synths using the button sequence ot just turn their volume down and save itvas part of the patch. I never tried to ‘stack’ or layer multiple sounds from the jdxi and another synth set to the same tracks midi channel, you could possibly create some HUGE sounds from that? jb x
Hi there and thank you so much for your comment! I will try to explain everything properly. The synths are Midi chained, you are right there and it works as followed: The Cobalt8X acts as master -> Midi Out to the Circuit Tracks -> Midi Out to the Monologue and Midi Through to the JD-Xi. (I did not use the Midi Through as Midi Out2 which is possible cause i did not need it this time) So much for the Midi setup, the sequencing is done this way: The Cobalt is using its own sequncer which is running all the time, i just raise the intensity later so you can't hear it in the beginning. The Circuit Tracks is sequencing the Monologue and is using its Drum Parts for BD as SD, the internal synths weren't used i think. The JD-Xi sequences itself as well. As for the JD-Xi I haven't tried this myself but yeah it is possible and yeah i will try that, sounds like a nice idea, maybe i use the analog part together with the Monologue and one digital part together with the Cobalt, should get some nice sounds out of that! Since i don't have a lot of time right now (new job, three children, you name it ;)) i really can't tell when i can pull this off but i will for sure! Thank you again for taking your time in commenting and for your inspiration! Sincerely, Henne
important for most of us non musician tinkerers to see this so we kmow we are not all not alone in the endless search for the perfect kick drum🤣 it starts to come to gether after 30 odd minutes so not complete loss eh? im happy to find its not just me scrolling thru endless patches👍😁
Thank you! In this Song i Just Chained my devices with Midi in Out and through. The Cobalt8X is the master, goes Out to the Circuit Tracks, from there Midi Out to the Korg Monologue for using the sequencer of the Tracks and the Midi through from the Circuit goes to the JD-Xi. For this Case it was the best Option for me. But still, sometimes it could be useful to use a Midi Box which i do own too, for example to use a DAW or feed one signal to several devices, it always depends.
