It plays during the first part of the final Wily stage, which is a full-on recreation of QuickMan's stage from MegaMan 2 (though you might have figured that part out from the song name).
There's something I like better about these non-remastered versions and I'm glad to see this extended! Just got promoted into a managerial position and this played in my head when I was introduced to my staff.
I find that the "cleaned up" versions often don't work with MegaMan Zero and MegaMan Zero 2, but MegaMan Zero 3 and MegaMan Zero 4 fared much better with the clean-up job, especially with how unbelievably muffled MegaMan Zero 4 is compared to the other games. Congrats on your promotion, by the way.
Hey, that was a nice (custom) loop you did to the song, oh man... the memories of 2012, that first marathon (and requesting a lot of songs... XD ) doing the challenge for the Genesis Model 2 at the end of that year (which I still use a lot as it was THE console that made me get out of the console war bogus stuff and just focusing on playing whatever I want on whatever system I want... with real hardware if possible, otherwise an emulator that goes as close as possible based on the hardware I have), heck, I still remember that the first thing I saw was your Famicom Gradius 2 playthrough, and we have gotten so far since then, or the behemoth that was your fan made Unofficial Salamander 3, yeah... great memories since then, and it keeps growing, especially because in a few days I have to move to my new home and have to start from (almost) scratch again, but it will be a great new adventure for me.
This is a good ending song, sure, I can just boot my Xbox One to play with the JPN Songs, but this "generic" song is quite good as a replacement of the one we are used to hear from previous releases like the GCN/Ps2 X Collection.

I remember havin' requested the instrumental version 3 years ago, due to the reason I said back then, it still hits hard for me on both sides (game and IRL), the game because... if you know, you know... but for the IRL part... just take a look to my comment about that song in the instrumental version, man, the time goes really fast, and in the upcoming days I have to move to one of my houses that my father left for me, and (pretty much) start all over again from scratch.
My favorite Dr. Light theme; piano and strings are a beautiful combo. I didn’t want to only request MegaMan 8 songs (since I asked for two last year and one this year) so I decided to throw in a different game as well. Thanks for fulfilling this request.
I'm generally not very trusting of OST releases being accurate representations of how the games sound. It's the reason for me making my own recordings sourced from the hardware. If you want to have it for collection purposes, fine, though I'd be running the soundtracks under some intense scrutiny next to real hardware (yes, I'm insane).
