I really want to love these videos. It would be better sound if the speaker was miked up. Too much ambient and audience noise is extremely distracting. This is a OK talk on that pivotal event of all human history, but I have a few issues with Professor Welch's conclusions. I wanted to really love this talk but I find that his presentation here had too many flaws.
Mentioned Books @ 13:20 and onwards: * The Death of the Messiah, Volume I & II - Raymond E. Brown * God, Justice, and Society: Aspects of Law and Legality in the Bible - Jonathan Burnside * Jesus of Nazareth: From the Baptism in the Jordan to the Transfiguration - Pope Benedict XVI * Key Events in the Life of the Historical Jesus: A Collaborative Exploration of Context and Coherence - Darrell L. Bock & Robert L. Webb * Miracles, Maleficium, and Maiestas , in the Trial of Jesus - John W. Welch (This took me a long time to actually find the correct title! Its not in his Bibliography on Wikipedia, neither on Deseret Books or Amazon!)... Google the title and you will find a PDF. * Jesus, the Galilean Exorcist: His Exorcisms in Social and Political Context - Amanda Whitmer * The Trial and Crucifixion of Jesus: Texts and Commentary - David W. Chapman & Eckhard J. Schnabel
I think it would help finding this if the title was edited to "The Trial of Jesus: Shedding new light - John W. Welch (2017)" 10 minutes in I already learned stuff :)
The LORD's robe filled the Temple. In other words the woven garments of creation filled Heaven & Earth. Never caught that and have been reading / listening to her work for 4 years.
Some fascinating notes that I've never considered - that of Aruwm (Gen 3.1) & Eyrom (Gen 3.7) Also, the failure on Adam's part to properly tend the Garden/Temple by letting in the Sheqets (Abominable) Nachash (Serpent / Shining Divine Being). Can't wait until more of these subjects become mainstream; it's exciting to see additional contributors jumping aboard.
