I ride an Indian Roadmaster and absolutely love it. I removed the large luggage rack, the lower front fairings and the original seat. I added the Ultimate Seats Solo and Passenger seats with back rests for both riders, as well as a 12" sissy bar with rack. I will add a small hard-case luggage item to hold my helmet once I find one that I like. Removing the large luggage rack and original seat reduced the weight of the bike significantly and made it more manageable for me to ride. I just didn't want that large luggage rack on the back and am finding the Ultimate Seats to be much more comfortable (and lighter) than the original seat. I had a dealership install 4" Rinehart slip-ons and a high-flow air cleaner, and there was an immediate increase in power, and an increase of 8 mpg gas efficiency. For added visibility on the road, I added a device to make the taillights blink on and off when I use the front or back brake and had Clearwater Lights place yellow their Darla riding lights to the front forks. This bike is so lovely on the highway. All my life, I wanted a Harley but only rode Triumph 650s and a Honda Magna 750 as well as myriad smaller bikes for many years. I had never ridden a large bike before purchasing this bike and was intimidated by its weight and size. However, I have viewed 100s of hours learning riding techniques on RU-vid videos produce by professionals and EVERY time I get on this bike to ride it, I spend a bit of time practicing emergency stops, weaving in and out, U-turns, figure 8s, circles and making turns from a dead stop in a large packing lot located close to where I keep my bike. PRACTICE PAYS OFF! I am no longer intimidated by this bike because my riding TECHNIQUES have improved dramatically as a result of constant practice. Very important: I never want to be overconfident when it comes to riding a bike. Respect for the road and the bike is ultimately the best practice, in my humble opinion. Be safe, be well. Ride! PS: I just purchased a Shoei RF 1400 helmet and love it. However, be aware that if you wear a certain size helmet currently, you may want to get a size larger if you purchase a Shoei RF 1400 because the difference in padding and such makes the helmet fit differently than other Shoei helmets. Just a kind warning, so you don't invest in a helmet that turns out to be too tight.
You're correct. The Scout Sixty. Scout, and Bobbers are less beefy. This one really seems less. A decent set of exhaust tips or full exhaust change makes a huge difference.
I love my mini apes. I have mine pushed closer to the front wheel rather than the back if that makes sense. Even with that position, I don't feel like I'm leaning forward. Overall, I'm very happy with them.
Looks like a 1926 model with electrosteel 1905 had a shallower fore end and prone to splitting which was a Steven's issue also. Believe they were made in Belgium for markets here.
Wow! You looked just like my late father. He was Barbara Mandrell's tour bus driver. Just saying...Steve Burchfiel was his name. He retired from driving after being with Barbara for about 25 years.
Hello just ran across this vid. I recently picked up a 2018 looks just like yours exept the seat is tan I like some of the mods you did. I'll be looking into more of your adventures. Mine is Jackie-O
What u need to know is they were produced in 2009 -2017 in the early years of production the r/T single cab offered u the most out of it now in the late years the interior on it and the 4 door cab are alike but they are still special and fast trucks I own a 17 last year of production 49k miles she’s my show room ride
I bought this bike about 3 weeks ago and here are my recommendations Comfort + seat Bassani slip on exhaust (Comfortable yet louder exhaust with a nice deep rumble) 3cm handlebar raisers Adjustable levers depending on your hands And this makes the bike ALOT better to ride.
I love my 2019 Springfield. It is leaps and bounds better than Harley as far as comfort and quality. If you aren't one to fall into the "I need to be like everyone else and buy a Harley," then I recommend checking out an Indian bike first. They are so sweet!
Great review very helpful still a 116 chieftain engine in 30 yrs will be worth triple the challenger engine .Enthusiasts love simple air cooled American Muscle.
All R/Ts are regular cab, there are 0 extended cab R/Ts. Ordering the sport package on the regular cab is what makes it an R/T. There were an average of 1500 a year made until the new body style came out. They still make the R/T, but it's only available in Mexico and South of Mexico.
I purchased a Roadglide years ago where the owner had previously installed wide whitewalls. I used the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, and Afterwards I used 1100 grit sandpaper to get them snow white.
Looks good- I have them on my 60, metallic black- it’s honestly all the bike I need, throw on some nice pipes, air flow and tune and it’s reg scout, heck final 5th gear ratio is the same too Love these bikes, more manageable than a little larger chief, but also very sharp bikes- I’m not touring- just riding around my town and the countryside- perfect bike
