I'm a radio host, and author of a few books and I pack an accordion. Also: Puppets. I get to help heal kids through CURE International. How cool is that?
What books have I written you ask? "Life Is Hard, God Is Good, Let's Dance" "The Men We Need" "The Truth About Us" "Blessed Are The Misfits" "Unoffendable"
4:30 they hold them on the left side because it regulates there heart beat, calming the baby. Think about how the baby was growing and the first thing they feel and hear is the mothers heart
I can't see that as being blasphemous. I attend my church. My niece attends her school. I go to my grocery store. I'm not seeing how starting his church is blasphemous. He will be attending his church.
Lewis said, in A Grief Observed, no one had ever told him grief feels so much like fear. That was such a helpful line to me when I was 25 and had lost my father to cancer.
On the “hello darkness my old friend,” check out Psalm 88:18 in the NLT. Maybe Simon or Garfunkel were reading the Psalms (or Lamentations or Ecclesiastes) before they composed the lyrics. 😉
How on Earth to you just forget about a fellow worker on your team...who fell and got injured. Maybe its a picture of modern self centerdness and self absorption...my life starts with me..and ends ttwo feet from my face...about the distance of a plate of food or cellphone .
I'm with Sherry. Texting important and lengthy things is terrible. Talking on the phone is the same as talking in person. Just do that and save time. 😂
Did you know, my friend, that people died with the super yacht collision? I know you are kind and not callous; just thought you should walk back that joke or at least put it into context of grief for those people killed.😢
Have you looked up the story and seen the video of the "collision"? One yacht slowly drifted into the other and bumped it and got scratched. No one died.
I’m listening to your “oddcasts” on Spotify as I walk and I’ve got to say how much I love the way you make me smile and downright laugh and then…and then I find I’m learning something too!🧐😉 I had been listening to another Christian podcast about the rise and fall of a mega-church and suddenly found myself feeling gossipy and irritable and God traced it back to that awful story I had entered into. Thank you for being the proverbial breath of freshness and also for your books! They are all truly needed. Keep up the good work and rest in His favor!
There are so many arguments to be made about the servants thing but I’ll stick with one for now. Even back in the old days, when kings and rich people had servants (I think they still do now, but let’s think old), there were still shopkeepers/innkeepers with their employees and they weren’t considered the servants of the rich AND poor who came into their stores. So why is that different now? Actually here’s a bonus one- it sort of takes away from the idea of “servant” when the waitress who just waited on woman X goes next door after her shift and woman X makes her coffee. Servants sort of indicates a personal thing, if you can’t fire them for doing a bad job they’re not your servants. In that sense everyone who isn’t independently wealthy is a servant to their employer. But at this point you’ve really watered down the original meaning of the what you seemed to be getting at.
So I lied it’s three arguments, here’s the summary. 😂 1. Even in the old days inkeepers/shopkeepers weren’t considered servants 2. If you can’t fire them for not pleasing you, they’re not your servant 3. If a servant serves another servant who then later serves that servant does anyone really have servants here? (To put in olden terms, if the cook serves the butler dinner is the cook now the butler’s servant? No, they’re both the king’s servants.) Truly it’s Starbucks and Olive Garden that have servants.
I wish you all did it visual instead of looking at a banner while you all talk. I will pray for you to consider this and blessings. You all are great but visual would be better.
You can clear your mind, supposedly, but what will move in when you're done? If you want to meditate, meditate on God's word. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind; not being empty.
Oh! First time I've ever disagreed with Sherri. There are numerous stories of blind animals relying on other animals to lead them around. Animals aren't stupid. They stand close and touch their "friend" who leads them out of the barn or around the house.
I saw my favorite teacher after I was grown and told him what an impact he had had on me. Not long after he passed away. Mr. Davis was such an awesome man.
