Hi Josephine, thank you for tuning in and thank you for the recommendation, I will hold my hands up and say that we didn’t fully understand the significance of the DDay landings before this day and we were just going to visit a beautiful place when we found ourselves to be witness to such an amazing tribute to the DDay landings. We were totally in awe and felt very lucky to be there to witness this so we posted the video as it happened so we could share our amazement and let our friends and viewers see too. Yes this ferry was called Oscar Wilde at the time of travelling. We took the WB Yeats ship on the way home from France and it was a much bigger/nicer ship.
I know that exact speed bump I think - was it the one at the motorhome parking at the beach in Ayr? I went over it in my van and it made my boiler dump all the water!

Thanks for the video . . . didn't think of it before, but maybe it's best to plan around the cruise NOT being in port. Probably an extra couple thousand people in town. . . . or was it not so bad?
Thank you for your comment, seeing the cruise ship in port was the highlight of our trip, it towers over the town, we were fascinated, a lot of the pubs put on live music/entertainment for the cruise liner visitors so you may benefit from that! I think their time in Cobh is short maybe 9 am to 6 pm. It shouldn’t affect your visit 😊👍

Our favourite holiday destination in Ireland. We go every year. There is a beautiful beach behind the Dock pub well worth a visit especially on a nice day which unfortunately seems you didn’t. Love the drive from our place in Meath to Kinsale. Savage restaurants there too. Hope you got home safe and sound. Stephen

The ferry from rosslare to Pembroke brings back memories for me I traveled on it every Sunday night for 3 years when I was on the big trucks you were only a couple miles away from me in graighnamanagh glad you enjoyed it

Hi Laura, we are really glad you enjoyed the video. We didn’t actually use the facilities but I did walk around and there were toilets and showers and they were in full swing! Sorry I didn’t have more info but I’d reckon the facilities there are good 👍😊 Enjoy the area, it is lovely there! 😊👍
