This channel is mostly dedicated to my hobbies I enjoy. It includes quite a lot of summer & winter activities.
I was a former member of both The Spartans and The Cadets drum & bugle corps, and a life-long skier.
When I started this RU-vid channel, I just wanted to simply document everything I had done in years prior. I can happily say that it has far exceeded that in many ways!
If you like what I do, you should subscribe for more content. I am always looking for great ideas and suggestions!
to know that for a fact that for many years after World War 2 there was an average of 300+ drum corps in each State and now there are probably less than 100 as far as I know? The forming of DCI was the beginning of the downfall of the primary youth activity in the United States.
This needs some double f and double b flat on that first hold and release for that shimmer like in the trumpet feature 2017. I am manifesting BD to win again with this hauntingly beautiful melody.
Wow, they've made some progress since I saw them in Ogden. The vertical alignment on the ending quarter notes has improved a lot. Thanks for uploading!
I kinda like the terminal designs on these older Leitner detachable lifts. They have quite a streamlined look compared to the boxy designs built nowadays.
I’d say it’s a blend of modern and old-school people. There’s a lot of cool things within the town, (including the ski area itself) but there’s also a lot of hiking trails and a hot spring area as well. I didn’t really get a chance to explore the town all that much, but driving through it I can say that Granby not a ski town. More like an all-season resort.
@@jdseams That’s pretty awesome that you can see parts of the lift start to flood in. Sugarloaf already has an older detachable quad from Big Sky as well called Bucksaw, and was formerly the Swift Current lift in MT. I guess since Boyne is busy upgrading most of their lift fleet, Sugarloaf is now the little brother that gets the hand-me-downs, LOL!
@@jdseams yup, there was actually a secret plan in place to put in the old Big Sky gondola at Sugarloaf as well (both were terminated within a couple years of each other) but that plan unfortunately never saw the light of day. There’s pictures online of the Big Sky cabins sitting in one of the Sugarloaf lots somewhere, but I can’t find them. Kinda crazy that there are so many chairlift parts Boyne reused.
This was one of the last lifts with Leitner-Poma Omega terminals and grips as it was built in 2010, and in that same year, Leitner-Poma built their first LPA terminals and grips on the High Noon Express at Vail! The Omega terminal and grip were phased out the following year.
At the time you recorded this video of the Bucksaw Express, I was thinking that Sugarloaf's lift maintenance team was trying to get a few bugs sorted out on this lift.
Coverage was very nice all weekend! Saturday was amazing, clear skies and nice temps. Sunday was kind of a wash though, cold and wet. How was your trip to Sugarloaf?
Jay Peak has the greatest amount of natural snowfall of any ski area in Vermont. This is late season, so while it looks bare the amount of natural snowfall they've received is one of the reasons why they are still open now.
Wow! It's the "Mercury SuperChair" . . . Well, until it was renamed to "Beaver Run SuperChair" back in 1993! I remember when this lift was brand new! This was my first ski resort! I love Breckenridge Resort! It's so beautiful and it was so much fun! I _really_ hope I'm able to go back someday, because it has been decades! This is my favorite resort. I'm probably being biased, but Breckenridge Resort has always stood out more. It seems to be more unique. But, I also loved Keystone Resort and Copper Resort, including a few others I can't exactly remember. Thank you for sharing this! It brings back great memories!
Indeed, Stowe definitely could have made it another weekend if they tried, but unfortunately agreements with the National Forest prevented them. It sucks because Stowe could be one of the last resorts open every year.
