@Hurricane64321 Because a middle aged woman isn't "badass" or "tough." She's passed off as this super gruff-strong-loner-badass South African military vet, when in reality she'd have died early on in the outbreak, and is someone Rick would absolutely body even with one hand.

Only thing cringe here is a grown man getting upset over a character being a woman that isnt washing your dishes during the apocolypse. Women can be strong, they can defend themselves, and there are certainly some that would lay Ricks, and yours, ass out.
It's definitely the series finale, right? Jason, you kept saying that it was going to be three separate stories...three six hour runs...and I kept thinking...six hours is three movies. I'm sure the movies didn't follow this timeline...but damn. I'm glad it was a happy ending, but I was frustrated...maybe because it was over...
There should have been an extra part of the echelon briefing that made Rick second guess going against Beale. Rick struggling with his desire to be with his loved ones and sacrificing for humanity's survival was the best part of the show. They could have really played with that. Instead Rick doesn't have to sacrifice anything and gets everything he ever wanted? Rick and Michonne didn't really struggle in any significant way that wasn't self-imposed. Every plan succeeded near-perfectly without any bad consequences. Does that sound like real life? I just kind of found myself laughing at how silly it was.
Okay, so I don't completely agree with Alex, but as much as Rick may have fallen into the CRM trap because of all the trauma, I do think Michonne was a bit reckless in episode 3...she didn't even attempt to come across as a B for more than two seconds lol and I think that added to his stress and nerves. I get that she didn't/doesn't know just how big the CRM really is, but MA'AM please don't strut like that and don't kill a walker with the head of a walker you just ripped off lol. Anyhow, great review! I look forward to the last two.
Thank you. I wanted to say the same thing. He never saw the helicopter. He told her why he ran after her and it wasn't because a helicopter was coming.
I think that Alex guy is wrong. Rick staying with the CRM guarantees nothing… what’s stopping Jadis from killing his family? Nothing. She was willing enough to take Rick away from them, effectively killing him without doing so. What’s stopping Jadis from cracking and killing his family to keep him in line and all to herself? Nothing. Michonne’s 100000000% right. If you want to protect your family? Physically do it, in front of them. Don’t give me that, “But me staying here guarantees their safety” bs. You’ve gone through so much already, lost so many, if you’re going to die at least make it mean something. Rick not being there WITH his family is an insane thought. Rick might as well think his family’s dead if he’s never going to see them again.
That phone painting of Carl. Oof. I always thought it was funny how that painter could never get Carl right. His drawing is basically Judith's painting with a bigger head and an eye patch.
It's not that he couldn't get it right. It was that Rick couldn't see him anymore so nothing the guy did was "right." That's the point. Michonne still remembered Carl so the guy could see Carl through Michonne's eyes.
Michonne saw a red light in the water beneath the helicopter. It might’ve been a reflection of the helicopter’s red light. It indicated to Michonne that they were low enough to jump.
It’s not just Negan: the governor Michonne was ready to fight and Rick was hesitant; who killed the governor? (Ok it was a group affair) Michonne. Rick turns into the terminator after his failure and who has to reign that back in? Michonne. Negan shows up; he wants to fight until Negan kills part of his family. Rick breaks. Michonne isn’t having it and convinces him to fight. Michonne then took over single hand leadership while raising two kids and turned into trauma Rick until Judith had to remind her what Rick and Carl fought for. They simply need each other to balance the other out. Rick isn’t going to be just elated to learn he has a son but deeply hurt he missed his first years and the time his family needed him. Michonne correctly asserted this was not the time cause they didn’t have the emotional space who breathe on that revelation.
She only flips out after he tried to get her out without him. He hasn't told her everything and yet you can't see that? You want her to get it when he didn't give her all the info.
Yeah, I’m with you on this. I feel for both of them, but I think Rick should have been honest and communicative with her, and I think it’s debatable whether she could’ve done anything better than how she did it. But I don’t think any of it is out of character for either of them, and I’m digging the story.
So...if Thorne is bad, and Beale is bad, and Jadis is bad...three big bads? One of them has to...flip. I doubt it's Beale...could it be Jadis? We keep talking about sacrifice...maybe Jadis ultimately backs Rick? I don't know...we are in a weird spot halfway through. I need to steal Jason's screener...;)...
I agree Jason...that look he gave Beale...looked...like he was buying in. He KNEW how to play the game...not sure he knows how to play it now? I don't know...I'm somewhat conflicted...
We have to take into account the six years...Rick's six years of being put down...what...five times...trying to escape...and Michonne's six years of hunting for Rick...well not six...four...whatever it was. Michonne is like, "let's get on with it." I'm not going to be able to convey it here...hahaha....
I don't feel that she isn't aware of the danger she's putting them in...I feel like she TRULY BELIEVES that the two of them can do anything...plus...I feel like she wants to go after CRM...

Rick might not have been able to chop the wire fast enough but what he done was total overkill. You know a thumb should leave able to squeeze the rest out depending on how tight the cuff is, at the very most, thumb and index finger, slide right through! Eeeeek I now have visuals and hallucinatory feelings of what it'd be like if I was to cut off my thumb and index finger in one fell swoop! He was a dick fo' sho'. Why did it have to be THAT time, the 'dogs' were far too near him and in high numbers. I'm thinking he could've waited it out for a more opportune time to carry out such a drastic act in the hope of escaping.
Gimple has been a good writer but he hadn’t been a great showrunner. It seems like he is very much redeeming himself. That said, having the reunion early was something Danai pushed for. She mentioned at the NY panel that the president of the network basically said he’s glad she ignored him. Also I completely agree that it was great they have the spin-offs. Didn’t shows with diff tones. Who would’ve thought a zombie romance about a married couple would work this well. If you haven’t watched it you should check out the panel Andy, Danai & Scott did at the NY premiere
