I remember being young and all my family would gather and eat and drink together to the voices of Jim lampley, Emanuel Stewart, Larry merchant and the occasional scorecard of Harold letterman. Those were the days. Also legendary nights was a good show too.
The owners and upper management were your stereotypical greedy corporate scum. I was an assistant manager for 2 1/2 years in Phoenix AZ in the late 90's. The area manager was caught skimming money and their response was to slash and burn EVERYONE in local management. They promoted my slacker/stoner friend to manager who didn't want the position, he eventually got fired, too. Of course, with no one who knew how to run the stores, sales continued to drop. Not to mention some of the employees who saw the writing on the wall started stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise, including new releases so they could further damage income. LOL
Man, I used to drink 3-5 cans of this a day as a 12/13yr old. Probably not a coincidence, since then I have had to give up caffeine completely. (Weird heartbeat) Now if I touch even a little bit, I am hypersensitive to it. It sends me off the rails! Useful at times.
A dental office is now where my Hollywood video used to be. I often wonder if there is anybody who passes by and thinks of how many hours we spent trying to pick the perfect combo of movies to last for the weekend 😕
I love this was thinking about the image of old Hollywood Video at the stadium Fred Meyers which also made me think of another location Hollywood west Fred Meyers remembering how that location was quite large just recently added into that Fred Meyers they used to just use it as a storage area and that huge one on Sandy Boulevard we had so many of them here in Portland
Not sure about everyone else’s Hollywood Video, but the one in my town, upon entering the store and on the opposing wall that you see as you enter, was a GIANT mural of the ever so campy 1995 Batman Forever poster and it made going there just so fkn epic. Ugh…good times.

Hollywood Video was definetly a big part of my childhood i remember mine in michigan had the characters on the wall which looked really cool to me and kept my pokemon vhs tape it also had a gamestop attached to it too
I’m a young boxing fans who frequently watches prior fights on RU-vid. It’s hard to watch any version but HBO’s. The loss of hbo boxing is a massive blow to modern boxing.
I was a amateur boxer in the 70s in Washington state and the northwest Golden gloves tournament would draw hundreds of b9xers from across the northwest , there was 32 fighters alone in my age and wieght class , this year the Tacoma Golden gloves tournament drew a little over 100 participants for all WIEGHT and age classes , its not popular no more and that folks breaks my heart
They was brilliant but their big mistake was ignoring the heavyweight division when it wasn't ruled by Americans, they basically dismissed the heavyweight division when Klitschko's was on top and they paid because US attention not on heavyweights still hasn't recovered since and boxing suffered because it's the heavyweights that draw in the most.
