Scanners in their pockets, need to get close to wallets or purses to read credit cards etc. It happened to me, and I ended up with almost 20 thousand bill on Visa.
I just met this fake police officer about 2 hours ago. Similar encounter. 99% sure it was the same people and accents. The people with me didn’t know what to do and I couldn’t convince them that is was all fake and to come with me. These dudes got incredibly close to seeing the dentist.
This scam has been long in London central. I had the same experience with this scam near Bayswater at night, and luckily escaped. They are not policemen but part of this Romanian scam. Good to have them on camera and report their faces to the real police. Real police in London are always in their uniforms
Well I used ro want to visit London. I would never wven enjoy it. I would be too worried about neing a victim of theft. I dont know how people like this live qith themselves. Doesnt anyone have any morals or ethics anymore? Doesnt anyone feel guilty anymore ? How do these people sleep at night doing this to innocent people?
The so called "policemen" speak with the exact same accent of the criminal !!! 😅😅😅 Pool ice man : ("Normally we are here to protect you...but "tudhay", 've arrre herrre to scam jyou !")
A Romanian thief who impersonated a police officer to prey on tourists has been jailed for 10 months. Chirica Dragnea, 52, was sentenced on Friday at the Old Bailey for this part in an organised gang that engineered an elaborate scheme for conning visitors to the City of London, the Square Mile's police force said. City of London Police said Dragnea, along with an accomplice, would pose as a tourist and a police officer to lull their victims into a false sense of security. The ruse involved the fake tourist asking an unsuspecting member of the public for directions on a map, providing an opportunity for the impersonated police officer to intervene, the force said. The fake officer would then take advantage of the real tourist's unfamiliarity with British police procedures to begin searching them for counterfeit money. During the search, the crooks took items including cash, identity cards and bank cards, and sometimes even demanded the victim's bank card pin. Police said Dragnea was arrested last year by genuine officers after being found in possession of an "official-looking" ID card in a black flip wallet. He was dressed smartly, and with an accomplice dressed like a tourist with a fake camera around his neck.
