I find it absolutely stupid to put such a large expensive piece of equipment in a position where it could have gone over on it's side, didn't anyone do any studies of the ground it was sat on before they put it there , it's not like you can just call a tow truck to pull it out or right it and plus it's not like you can just go and get another one 😂😂
Sad to see Rex became a shill and paid for by big oil and gas in denial of man made climate change , but one has to respect his intelligence, wit, and ability to communicate in an elegant manner as he became more of a curmudgeon in his elder years.
Or maybe he legitimately supported the oil and gas industry, in large part because it was the salvation of Newfoundland after the collapse of the cod fishery?
Watched this for a nostalgic sampling of the Rex Murphy I remember from the Cross Country Checkup era and earlier. Now regret watching a bit of it. The pro trucker convoy stuff was enough to make me stop watching at the 15 minute mark.
Great video. Brings back a lot of memories. Spent 11 years on work over rigs from 1977-1988. From floors through the ranks to operator then to tool pusher at 22 during the 80’s boom and back to operator after the 80’s bust. Only 2 of my original crew are left. My brother and me. They have gone home. I miss those guys.

I OPERATED OVER 30 DIFFERENT MAKES AND MODELS OF ELECTRIC WALKING DRAGLINES OVER THE YEARS ( BUCYRUS ERIE , MARION AND PAGE ) .
I am old enough to remember when Rex was thought of as left leaning now they think he is far right, I don't think Rex changed. But he has always been a great intellect and orator.
I remember back in the day we put 2 lines in the drum with 4 line blocks. I hear they weld plates over the holes there in canada. Lmfao that op stand 10' above the floor lol. Ive worked on a few canadian rigs they were so ungoldly slow.

I had this problem on my D4, but I found the solution. I realised that just before the screen went blank I had accidentally hit the PV button at the front rather than the Fn buttion I usually use. Because the PV was so rarely touched it had become sticky and stayed down. Hence, the screen refused to work with anything like playback or menu etc. I gently prized the PV button up using a jewellers screwdriver, and the camera functions perfectly once again. Voila!
