It makes me wonder if the reason we don't know about advanced extraterrestrial civilizations is because we don't deserve to be known. All that time and energy wasted on wars because of different skin color, countries or religions. Perhaps the human race is doomed and will never evolve into a type II civilization on the Kardashev scale because of our stubbornness and they know this better than we do.
