Was the grandfather white? Ultra white, white as snow? Human computers were anyone who did math. Most people can't do math. My mother, a dark woman, couldn't do 2nd grade math and warned me as a child, to avoid math. lol I do complex math everyday, including Eular's, in fact anyone who plays in Second Life virual world does Eular rotations to move around.
This is what I think that the current WOKE movement is all about. We Blacks are disheartened at the silence and omission of the contributions of great Black folks in American and world history. Blacks did rule great Egypt in ancient days. All the noses of their old statues are broken off, why? It is now high time for us to get the credits and respect that we deserve--not many moons later, and no mention at all. We have been systematically held back as a people, for centuries, and now we want true freedom. Anything we get a chance to do, we excel at to the very top. You can see this across the spectrum, including sports. Tell me why it was once illegal for a Black man in America to be able to read and write, if it were not to hold us back!? But God saw/sees our plight and opens doors for the world to see that we've got what it takes. Thank God for those wonderful White folks who were the exception, and helped. Katherine Johnson is a very humble lady, whose humility indeed shows an outstanding mark of greatness. God be praised that she was not just Black, (though light skinned/mixed), but a Black WOMAN!!!
I think the POC of color thru out the world have been brainwashed by the Europeans 2 think u must look like them 2 get ahead & accepted. Sadly its true, & they continue 2 push this. And another motherdu¢king thing ! Everyone didn't give up their farms to move on reservations. A lot of s indians kept our farms. Many of us moved west to non-reservation lands and bougjt acres there. In my family we still have land. But i have family, cousins, uncles, aunts that are in reservations. But other family didn't go. I'm 53. My father was born in 1864, died in 1918, and his 2nd wife my grandmother was born in 1879, died 1964. I am the son of elderly people. We're Bajan Arawak (not direct chief), Chata (not direct chief), Powhatan and Tutelo-Saponi direct chief's on my fathers side, and Narragansett and Piscataway on my mothers side non direct chief. I would have chexked that woman for referring to me as aonr of Jesse Jackson "African American" in 1988. I was 17 yeats old then and my father hated it. My maternal grandmother wouldn't stand for it and told us growning up that we were indians. We farmes corn, squash, beets, greens, pumpkin, tomatoes, chile peppers. Raised roosters,hens, Guinea Fowl, hens and bittoe chicks. Smoked our own meat in a cinder block smoke pit with hickory logs.And we only went to the market for certain things. All 12 of my uncles and aunts were born from 1890- 1918, counting my father made 13 of them. They told me that we were Indians as i stated.

No reply given, go I take it to mean, that Nottoway, lost their language long ago, so they no longer can speak their native language. That is so said to lose their language. Being a very small tribe, is very easy, to lose their language fast. A native language is a terrible thing to lose.
I thoroughly appreciate your interview, questions were honest but appropriate. In a perfect world, color shouldn’t matter. I’m an American born mexican woman taught to stay within my culture but my marriage to a Mexican man didn’t survive. I researched my ancestry and found that my family has African and European ancestry. I’m happy that these racial attitudes are continually changing in America and around the world. God has blessed us with the ability to love one another.
