Permits depend on location. Generally, you may not need one, but it’s wise to check with your local municipality for specific requirements. The good news is that if you do need a permit, it's usually straightforward and inexpensive to obtain, as we provide stamped drawings for most of our kits.
Our Bunkies do not come with HVAC systems included. They are designed as small cabins, so any heating or cooling solutions would need to be added separately based on your preferences and needs. Before that thousands of “I’m a building expert,” come on here. These aren’t meant to be a residence. This is a version of glamming. “Bunkies” are usually very rustic and simple places to stay out of the elements. A more permanent, rigid solution, than a tent. This one is a cross between a pull barn and a tree house. Most of the ones I see are for hunters and not nearly as elaborate. They aren’t meant to be cabins/residences. They are Cheap (by comparison to a true cottage/cabin). Every year a bit of work and maintenance is done to it to keep it going. This is a fancy one. Probably on some property where the owners have kids and they can stay there with their friends. Or they have frequent guests and it’s a place for them to stay. Before people start talking about insulation and warmth. It may not be in a cold weather place. The one I stayed at, wasn’t nearly this nice, we slept in sleeping bags and had a gas stove for heating. We stayed a week in it, dead of winter in southern Canada. It snowed and averaged -5°C. Cooked over a fire outside. Did everything else outside. Only was inside for sleeping and escaping the cold for a bit.
Sorry to hear you feel that way. Our Bunkies are crafted with high-quality materials to ensure durability and strength. They’re built to handle various weather conditions and offer long-lasting use. If you have specific concerns or need more information, please visit us at bunkielife.com.
Bunkies are made to be rustic. They are used for hours, maybe a couple days, etc. it may not even be used in the winter. These are meant to be a place for visitors to stay, or kids to hangout. Most often, they are installed for kids, so they can bring their friends and all hangout there. They are expensive tree houses. Depending where this is, it may not even get cold enough to be a big deal, or they put a wood stove in it. They are basically barns, where some people can stay while visiting on vacation or have fun doing something inside. They are not a residence.
@@MaxPower-vf8kt I didn’t say or in the video say said it was a residence… this thing looks like it’s built like Lego 😂 and can fall apart in any wether tbh and for visiting is just a shame honestly and poorly designed there are far more better options for 12.000
I would like to get one of these for a bachelor living, idk about getting it hooked up to in town hydro, but I'd like to find an alternative to setting up an off grid type power source
Our Bunkies can be a great option for bachelor living! For off-grid power solutions, many customers explore options like solar panels or generators. If you’re looking to connect to town hydro, we have resources to help with that too. Check out bunkielife.com for more info!
