at the end of the movie it was funny Chuck Norris strangled Christopher Lee by the neck now getting beaten by Chuck Norris would be worse for Christopher Lee
In Sharpes Justice, you can actually see that unlike many, Calvet was a brave general. In the scene where Ross's and Wigram's column take over the French hill, Calvet was fighting a ranker with his sabre. He managed to overcome the ranker, and even Gaston came to help by kicking the rankers arse!
Being married to multiple women and cheating on all of them, that's soldiering. Seriously, its the most army thing the show portrays. Infidelity in the Army is crazy.
Jesus of Nazareth, The Messiah, died for the remission of sin, including yours, was buried and rose from the dead on the third day, and whoever believes on him has everlasting life in heaven. Jesus himself said in John 6:47 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16.
The sub context was brutal. This general in control told off and dismissed a wannabe courtier by reminding them of his own hardships and worth of rank as to why a wormy man like him was not fit to lead let alone eat.
I have been trying to study French on my own. I noticed something strange here. When Ducos introduces himself to Calvet, he says "Je major Ducos." But when Cresson comes, he says "Je suis colonel Cresson." Could anyone explain, why the diffrence?
There are two layers to both the iconic line here and the fact that Gen Calvet is so keen on eating. First off he demonstrates with his riposte about not eating soups as a play on social class as he grew up poor and had to work his way up both as a civilian and a member of the military and literally starved in Russia. Not sure about the cannibalism thing, but it was not uncommon. The fact he brought up his buddy that was his version of Harper is just grand.
