Number of factors.. back in the day people used to buy car and tend to keep it and plan on to pass it to their kids so people looked after their cars, Manufacturer used to build cars to keep the longevity in mind. NOW things have changed newer generation want new and fancy car or model every few years, no-one really cares about looking after the car because they know they're gonna replace it in couple of years, and Manufacturer knows this hence Cheap mechanical components.. they are making disposable cars. They are giving what customer actually wants.. simple!
