A place where sports culture of the past can be visited, where in some small ways we can relive the times of our lives or experience the lives of another time.

A place where the past lives and never dies.

31:29 Movie goof, Martin's entering from the wrong side. The 3rd base dugout was for the Tigers. The visitors sat on the 1st base side.

For the 78 world series i wish the dodgers would have hit Reggie Jackson in the FACE...dropped him where he stood, and stomped on him setting off to find the ball. Reggie was a total jerk!

If Angel Hernandez was homeplate ump for this game it would have been a 14-13 final score.

Didn’t the Yankees announcer used to repeat the numbers. Like Reggie number 44 number 44

Completely baffled that I missed this in 2007! Reggie Jackson himself debunked some of these things, or at least provided his own perspective, in his 2013 book "Mr. October". This is really good! Plus the great Jimmy King as George Steinbrenner! I hope people catch that reference! "I WILL RULE YOU!!!"👑

Babe Ruth took the sports writers out for drinks and treated them like friends, so it’s very difficult to bad mouth your friends. 😅😅😅😅 get it. These babies aren’t smart enough to figure that out.

I've been watching a lot of random '70's MLB games on RU-vid lately. In this 1970 game Mike Marshall of the Expos pitches to pinch hitter Bob Robertson of the Pirates in the 9th inning. Last week I watched a Twins/Mariners game from 1978 where Mike Marshall of the Twins pitched to pinch hitter Bob Robertson of the Mariners in the 9th inning. 🤯 Baseball is such a trip.

Without Rose being Rose and hustling to break up the sure double play, Tony Perez doesn't hit the home run and different result.

Such great acting all around. The writing was so cleber and hilarious. I laughed so many many times at the subtle humor. Jackson reading books, quoting random abstract philosphers. Michey Rivers hoping to stay injury prone. Reggie talking about Standard Brands and Puma in this speech. There were so many subtle jokes that I kept thinking how great the writers did here. The only thing that was off was Joe Dimaggio who came off as a villain. How Reggie survived just shows how strong he was.

AWESOME Mini-series, as stated before! NOTE the Cameo of Steinbrenner's Daughter at College, by the way: Emily Wickersham, who starred on NCIS from 2010-2018.

A small economic repreave at best will happen if Trump wins. Still better than Biden. Trump has no base he needs to be voted back in. He is taking the path of least resistance.

Everyone talks about how great The Reds were which they were, but how about the RedSox? That team was amazing also. Carl Yastrzemski, Carlton Fisk, Fred Lynn, Luis Tiant, Jim Rice ( who was hurt), Dwight Evans. Swept the defending World Series champs the Oakland As in 3 straight ( who beat Cincy in'72 by the way). Cincy swept Pittsburgh in the NLCS, swept Philly and New York in '76, but the Red Sox went toe to toe with them. Could have easily won in six games. Tiant shut them out in Game 1 and were one out away from going up 2-0 in Game 2. Five one run games and 30-29 total runs scored. The Red Sox were a great team also with four HOFs who didn't back down and weren't intimidated by the Big Red Machine like Pitt, Philly and NY were during those '75 and '76 seasons. The greatest World Series of all time between two great teams.

Bill Russell would dominate in any era including today if you teleported him. However, time travel bill Russell would not be a GOAT level player like he was. More like Dwight Howard.

We don't know if he would even play with the same confidence with a court full of people that are skilled at 6'7 and over and also grabbing rebounds and shooting 3s.. he didn't have to revolve his defense around skilled players
