Beautiful highlight of Janice's remarkable leadership journey! I love the idea of "giving forward" and "stand out to be outstanding". It makes me think of the importance of values and being vision-driven. Thank you, Dr. Karen!
Thank you so much Shakti for your comment and for sharing the specifics of what you appreciated about Janice Bryant Howroyd's wisdom. Thanks for watching.
🙏Let Us Pray: In Jesus' name, May the Lord bless us and keep us. May the Lord heal and deliver us in the areas we each stand in need of healing and deliverance. May the Lord be gracious unto us, making His face shine upon each of us, and give us His great peace. May we live, walk, think, speak, and pray as children of Jehovah, the only true and living God. May we be blessed with the mind of Christ Jesus, Jehovah's Son, our Savior, Lord, the Author, Perfecter, and Finisher of our faith. May we dress for success daily wearing the whole armor of God and the signet ring of royalty. May we walk in the character of Jesus Christ. May God’s truth, love, grace, mercy, wisdom, blessings, peace, joy, and protection be our portion and rest upon our lives. May we each be a light in this dark world, lifting God up in the lifestyle we each live. God in Jesus’ name do this for me, all those I love, and the writer of this prayer. God honor this prayer over each of our lives today, tomorrow, and for always. Amen. So be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Prayer was written by Encourager Linda Flagg, M.A., Board Certified Professional Christian Life Coach.
That's fantastic! You may know more about him than all of us. Thanks for your comment. I love learning about the many contributions of those we don't always hear about.
@@dr.kareny.wilson-starksexe3522 even after passing away he is still saving lives on so many levels the breathe of life is so precious. He is a true American hero without question. It's been a long time since I been in school but I never forgot that feeling I had.
Thank you for listening Erik. Dr. Clarence Shuler is a true luminary in this area of diversity. Please be sure to listen to the other two podcast episodes we did with him.
Hello Jan, I apologize that my earlier response did not get posted. Here are the links to Thomas Robinson's obituary and memorial service. Obituary: www.pipkinbraswell.com/obituary/Thomas-Robinson Video of Memorial Service: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gAMkLfqHQvI.html He was such a wonderful, humble man.
Dennis is amazing. What that teacher did for him - to allow him to discern what his talents were early in his life - he has been able to do for so many he has mentored and coached. Although he may not have been able to tell her the great impact she had in his life, he has been able to exponentially pay it forward by his impact in the lives of others whose lives he has touched.
How did Garrett Morgan "invent" the traffic light when JP Knight's traffic lights were operating in London 9 years before Morgan was even born? Lester Wire and James Hoge both had electric traffic lights in operation a decade before Morgan 'invented' his.
Hello Alfred, My sincere apologies for the delay in responding and thank you for your questions. Based on my research, it looked like there were many inventors involved with the traffic light invention. Garrett Morgan appears to be the first person to invent an electric, automatic traffic light using all three colors (red, yellow, green). Prior to him, as you mentioned, many men offered other models - perhaps non-electric and/or using just two colors (red and green). I should have clarified this in the episode but I hope this answers your questions now. Fondly, Dr. Karen
Hello again Alfred, Similar to your traffic light question and answer, there appear to be many men who were involved in the development and modernization of the modern day gas mask. Different research seems to include some common names, including: the Ancient Greeks, the Banu Musa brothers from Persia, the American engineer Lewis P. Haslett - he was the first person in the US to receive a patent for a gas mask, Scottish chemist John Stenhouse, and Garrett Morgan. Hindsight being 20/20, this information should have been included in the podcast. Here is an interesting article if you have time: www.scientificamerican.com/article/black-inventor-garrett-morgan-saved-countless-lives-with-gas-mask-and-improved-traffic-lights/. Thanks again for your questions. Kindly, Dr. Karen
Well said, Dr. Karen. John Lewis was a giant. Generations to come will stand on his shoulders. FYI, I'm dedicating my next book to him and his work for "justice for all".
Thank you, Ms. Valerie! We're glad Dr. Karen could provide just what you needed to hear. Be sure to subscribe to our channel so you don't miss out on special messages in the future!
What a fabulous series Dr. Karen! This was truly a blessing to me and you brought out important lessons from David's life that inform Christian leaders how to lead in Christ. Thank you!
Thanks Dr. Karen. We are reminded to always do the right thing, even when we have been wronged. If we do it as to the Lord, we can be assured that he will fight our battles.
Praying for God's guidance when making important decisions is some of the wisest counsel we can be given. The scripture says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." James 1:5. Thanks Dr. Karen!
Some times we have to Slow Down (in the sanctuary/stronghold) to Speed Up (to reengage in the battle). Thanks for reminding us that if we are to be equipped for battle, we must be rested and refreshed. We need to slow down to hear from God, reflect on our current state, and invite friends into our stronghold that can serve as wise counsel and/or a listening ear. Good stuff Dr. Karen!
Curtis, I must regularly remind myself of this principle! Thanks for watching. Sorry it took so long for me to respond! Still learning how You Tube and other channels work.
Thanks Dr. Karen. I love how you conveyed that David was anointed and called to be King, way before he ever officially took on the role. There was a season of preparation that David would have to endure before taking on the official role of king. We must not lose faith during our Kingship training! This is inspiring!
