We all have our own opinions but if anyone stays at the hotel in this video then about 5 minutes walk away from the square is the Ramparts cemetery and should be on your list of places to visit. Also the Kazematten brewery is also only a few minutes walk away. This is the home of Wipers Times beer. Brewery tours are possible some days but have to be booked. Walking from the brewery towards the Menin Gate you will find a bar in the casements.

Corals didn’t look that great. A lot were dead. Sad that the resort plays night games with the hermit crabs. That’s so eco unfriendly. No Bula from me to the managers of the resort.
Excellent vid! Soon, next year, to go there for a beach getaway. Was at Serenity Island Resort, 5 years ago=the snorkeling= was AMAZING there, & primary reason for choosing it over Blue. Blue Laggon was #2 pick, but will be #1 this trip! Thx for the great overview vid!! A question...is this resort, & Paradise Cove Resort, near each other? Thinking of doing both, back to back, as in 5 days on each. Take than big catamaran water bus to the other...the idea. Good idea?
Great video! My family did the same thing back in 2014, it was a very fun trip and the people/staff at all the places ( gateway/raffles and Blue lagoon beach resort ) we stayed at were very friendly and welcoming. Take us back there….. Bula! Ps: the caves are beautiful and also used in the 80s movie “ The Blue Lagoon “ which starred Brooke Shields
We're planning the same trip in the same type Jucy Chaser campervan out of Queenstown next March, 2023, flying in from Arizona. Maybe different activities, although the zip line looks fun. Can't wait to go! October was mid spring 'down under', we're going in early fall. Be interesting to see the difference in seasons between October & March. Watch my video of cruising our own boat to Desolation Sound, BC Canada in June & July 2018. Similar scenery to NZ. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-poewLOldXyA.html
I'd say Octo is far cheaper than Blue. If money is no concern, then Blue. If you're easy going and open minded seeing every thing as an opportunity and a chance to learn and laugh, then Octo
Hokitika Gorge is Beautiful with its Blue Water, Lake Brunner a great Lake to go to, There is a Beautiful Lake halfway between Fox and Franz Joseph Glaciers,
