My Pops had one. Same color. Daily driver for him. He had no idea it was a hot rod. His was automatic with black interior. Just a winner of a car. My favorite.
Nice 64 Chevelle, love it ! I can relate. Back in early 1970, I bought a used silver 64 Chevelle 2 door hardtop with 6 cylinder and stick on the column shift. Six months or so later it was sporting a slightly modified 1968 302 Z 28 motor, Pontiac Muncie 4 speed and a rebuilt 66 GTO posi rear with 3.90 gears. Painted 68 Caddy Nottingham (Emerald) Green. Green and silver interior. It had a whole slew of aftermarket equipment; ignition, exhaust, some valve train mods, interior upgrades, etc. Car ran fairly well considering it was so light. Drove on the street for 10 years before I sold it. Wish I had kept it !
Stock studs, 15x7 front and 15x8 rear. I don’t remember the offsets but was easy enough to measure from the stock 14” wheels to see what will fit just right. The front disk brake kit pushed the front track out too - i think maybe 3/4”
beautiful car, we have the same car 🙌 altho as you can see mines a bit faded.. paintjob soon! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sB0jb0xqRs4.html
Thanks mate! Will be curious to see what the hot compression test yields. The plugs had some caked on grime on the threads - not uncommon. Likely a result of leaking valve cover gaskets!
How did you get that grubscrew on the bottom of the Booster out? I try to fix the same Problem and Im stuck on this problem. Is there used to be an Allenkey in the middle of the Screwhead? mine is circular... FYI Some guys at the "7-forum" wrote the black plastic (bakelit) some times swole a bit and cause a clamp of the shaft an stuck breaks, im gonna file a bit the hole, if i get this "klump" (sry german) out.
If I recall correctly, it wasn’t installed super tight - I was able to break it loose by turning it with a small pair of pliers and then reinstalling just by hand and then finally tightening with pliers. There’s no conventional socket or Allen that goes in or over it. The little mirror helps!
Beautiful Chevy. I have a '62 Twilight Blue 4 door Bel Air myself. Has the inline 6 with 3 on the tree, but looking to swap in a 396 and a Muncie at some point.
