The only time that the Rio parking lot ever got filled up was during the World Series of Poker. Now that the WSOP has moved, it's a giant underutilized space.
My family and I lived and worked on the resort for 12 years until they shut down! It was heartbreaking! Me my husband my daughter and our grandchildren! I wish your video as longer!😢
Instead of turning right onto I-15 in Baker, stay straight towards Kelso, eventually you’ll hit I-40 that takes you to Barstow which is all three lanes minimum to SoCal.
Awsome thanks, Mark .... keep posting, please. I would love to see some content on the Hoover and Laughlin (reflects my family name .... Which is so cool .... i only learned it existed a few years back trucking through to drop load in California) 😂 ... It's surprising how little people know(including myself) about an area that has SO MUCH to discover.❤
One of my fathers best friends. Dad was a pallbearer at his funeral. I just visited his stone today. Dad passed recently. I have a lot of materials from Sam's lol fe and their friendship. My brother was dedicated by hist parents and i went to their church when I was very young. I met Sam a few times.
What’s weird about it? The team owner has not been honest with the fans. The company owning the land and hotel are in financial trouble. The team had a perfect place off the Strip that made more sense for a sport stadium. This is Vegas, we are supposed to be a world class city, so why not demand a world class team??
100% on point! The Wild West property would've made the West side of the 15 a "Sports district" you could have sports bars/retailers galore over there!! Huge parking lots, lots of tailgating and pregaming.... it would have been PERFECT. So, of course the powers that be in Clark County f'ked it up.
Hello Mark, It's not that the Oakland A's are the worst baseball team in the USA but a contributing factor is the city of Oakland. The team can no longer gat motivated like the era of the "Swingin' A's of the '70's (Rollie Fingers, Vida Blue, etc. etc. etc. My guess is the Athletics will have to change the name because LVAC (a physical fitness business) owns the name Las Vegas Athletic Club and will probably sue or let the LV A's use it for an enormous sum. So, are e gonna have the Las Vegas Athletics, or simply the Las Vegas A's? That would remove any possibility of a dispute with any local business as a simple single letter cannot be patented as the "A" would not stand for anything, much like the S in Harry S (notice no period!) Truman!
Hello, Blaming the city for your team beign so bad is a cop-out. Look at all the teams and leagues that have passed thu Las Vegas. Most of them failed for one simple reason, bad financials. No money in the bank when they started and like the A's, they figure the city will bail them out. You can put a good team in a cornfield in Iowa, and people will come. You put a bad team in the middle of the big city, and people will go elsewhere. (BTW Nice Bike)
I needed to add to my comment. I was curious about the name as well. LVAC is already in hot water for letting a member drown; they would need some favorable press, and suing the team would give them that!. I'm with you, a new name may help sell the idea.
What is disgusting is that they could have built the stadium next to the Rio for $5 (true story) Instead, the taxpaying citizens of Nevada voted to pay 380 million in taxpayer money to tear down the Tropicana and build it there. The dumb, uneducated and ignorant population of Nevada voted this through.........
Um, sir, you're Vegas. Vegas is trash. Everything that vegas is known for is trash. Las Vegas, while offering entertainment and excitement, can be harmful to society, such as its promotion of excessive gambling, which can lead to addiction, financial ruin, and social problems for individuals and families. That's just one example - all other issues kind of stem from that one fact. Sorry to break it to you, but this is perfect and fitting for Vegas. I wouldn't expect any less. Embrace your filth. Make it cool. That's what Vegas is best at.
Some videos and news articles on the Internet have the crash site on Needles Highway and not on route 95. I always though the crash was on 95. Does anyone know the exact crash location? I remembered this day in 1992 as I was about to graduate from high school and Laughlin was one of my favorite vacation spots at the time. Thanks for the video :)
Many peopel dont realizre that the Grand Canyon has several different overlooks or "parks". The two popular are the West Rim, because its closest to Las Vegas and is owned by the Huaplia Tribe. And The Grand Canyon National park. At the Grand Canyon National Park, the South Rim is the most popular and most developed.
Great video mark! I was in Vegas and experienced the strip before f1…. Looking forward to going back now that it’s back to normal. Looking forward to episode 2!!
We are group of 6 people coming from India to Vegas march second week. We are planning to travel Grand Canyon South Rim. Can you please let me know what are the best travels. We are planning to go by either bus or private vechile that accomodates less people. Please share any contacts. Thanks!!
Great Video! I've taken the West Rim tour which was very beautiful but the views did seem limited. Looking to take the South Rim tour in September, if not too much walking just had a knee replacement a year ago.
Just referring to the website info, I think the 4700 University Center location will be a UNLV/Reid Airport station. My suspicion is one machine will tunnel under University Center to the South Station and then another machine will tunnel to Virgin Hotel and then the Central Station. The Vegas Loop currently isn’t permitted to ferry people on public streets. So they’ll have to shuttle passengers to/from the airport to the “New” UNLV/Airport. I think once Vegas Loop has the ability to ferry people from & to the Airport, the casinos are gonna want to be a part of the Loop system ASAP. Just my thoughts.
Thank you. It seems they are doing the same thing down by the Welcome to Vegas Sign. Th eland next to the now closed Diamond Motel (Pink Elephant) is owned by same company. They want a station near the sign as well as tunnel to the stadium. So I agree, both spots may be hubs for further tunneling.
