Thank you for the tour of a great boat. Duckworth, the Rolls Royce of fishing boats. Like Wooldridge boats, designed with utility in mind.

Very cool boat. Shows the potential of electric boats in the future as battery tech and cost improves substantially. Reducing drag is a big thing which they have done well

Well done presentation! I purchased a new Ranger R-31 Command Bridge in 2021 from the area dealer, Winter Island Yacht Yard in Salem MA. and couldn't be happier. These are great boats. They are quality builds with a ton of standard features that are added cost options in many other vessels. The dealer network is fantastic and as an owner the backing you get from the factory is incredible! After several seasons of safe and fun boating in coastal NY, CT, RI, and MA, I am very happy with my decision to buy a Ranger Tug!

A couple nice features that one of your sister companies in the Bryton Marine group (KingFisher) is that there is about a 4" wide extension that flows off the port side of the dash that runs back about 24 to 30 inches for top mounting single / dual binnacle controls, a place to mount the joystick for helm master , trimtab controls and a flat spot behind the binnacle to mount a remote control for a Chartplotter as to not have to reach thru or over the steering wheel when wanting to zoom in out plus some other adjustments like splitting the screen. The shelf also allows you to side flush mount a control head for a stereo. You guys are crowding the dash too much now days. Another thing they do is at the rear helm they have a custom mounting box located under the roof to flush mount your GPS/Fishfinder to help deter theft. A feature or option I would love to see is a coating or some kind of liner for the fish box and livewell. They get very corroded and contaminated after a few years of fishing or make the door into the cabin slide so an ice chest could be placed next to the port side of the door. The ice chest also makes for a great place to sit. I have just started my venture with 3 rivers marine and will be ready to buy the 24 Pacific Pro in November. I use my boats 200 plus days a year. My current boat is 18 years old and getting tired. Still running the original 200 HP Yamaha w/o issues. The boat will be primarily used as a commuter boat along with the occasional hauling of large items (building materials, appliances etc...). The Pacific Pro looks and feels like a solidly built boat. The aluminum boat MFG represented on our beach are Hewescraft (8), Alumaweld (2), Custom Weld (2), Northriver (2), RiverHawk (1), Silver Streak (1), Thunderjet (1), KingFisher (1), and Munson (1) No Duckworths yet. Looking forward to getting a new boat.

same as a rudder strike, in any boat. although the foil would probably snap off completely which is better than a hull penetration.

I have owned boats for decades from trailer boats, large sailing boats to 50 foot power boats. I/O drivers are more vulnerable than others boat everything is vulnerable. This boat foils will not be any worse than a conventional boat. I think it is great. Shows a huge potential for Electric boats in the future. But I do like the noise of a performing engine

Nice video Sam ! Everyone ( including myself ) agree Fluid Motion is a leader in innovating designs and frills . Unfortunately there is a problem with access for servicing components . Any new processes to improve the hull quality ? Why is Fluid Motion warranty information not in brochures or on the web sites ? I can find Warranty information for most boats when I search online .When I bought my first Ranger Tug I didn't get the warranty sheet until the boat was paid for . Is there a reason for this ?

I suggested to this great company years ago to lenghten the R29 to 32. Not with a bigger aft deck, but a 3' longer interior w/same aft deck as 29. Room inside for full size fridge and a 1/2 bath day head/guest head accessable just inside doors to aft deck. Love that these boats are desiel singles and trailerable. 32' hull much better sea keeper in off shore swells. Keep them simple, sturdy, and light. Current R31 is no better than 29, just costs more. In cooler climates, bigger interior is more important than bigger aft deck!!!

"The good news is, we have time to adapt "(20:57). I am a generally fan of Mr Englander's plain-speaking delivery of hard facts, but he does tend to err on the side of over-optimism. Perhaps he is one of those who thinks that frightening people is not the best way to motivate them to take the kind of radical and drastic action that our situation requires, and I can understand this view. But the awful truth is that we have run out of time - in fact we ran out several years ago - and there is now a stark choice, getting starker by the day, between people in the wealthier countries, especially the USA, changing their economic and social systems, reducing their consumption, and starting to pay the increased taxes needed to pay for the massive engineering projects, global distribution networks (for food as well as the materials needed for the aforementioned projects which need to take place on every continent except Antarctica), and population relocation and resettlement programmes that are our only chance of preserving our civilisation and perhaps saving our species from extinction. Global Warming (which is the cause of both Climate Change and rising sea-levels) is going to make large areas of the planet effectively uninhabitable... and those areas will include some of the most populous and agriculturally productive, such as every river delta and estuarial flood-plain in the world). In this video Mr Englander identified some of the areas on the South and East coasts of the USA that will be affected (not that anyone will really miss Florida) but the USA is a large and wealthy nation that could, at a pinch, relocate thirty or forty or fifty million people over the course of two or three decades - albeit most of them as penniless climate refugees. However, many other countries and regions do not have this luxury and will pay a far higher price for the pollutants that the Western industrialised nations have emitted over the past two centuries, and for the unsustainable economic system that those same countries have imposed on them. The mass population displacement and loss of food production that such countries will experience will bring down governments, spark widespread conflicts, and lead to mass starvation on a scale unprecedented in human history... unless those countries that have the money and technology and engineering abilities start to take our responsibilities seriously. There is no such thing as a 'local' environmental disaster and anyone who thinks we can just let a couple of hundred million Bengalis sink or swim is not just morally bankrupt but living in a fantastical alternative reality of make believe and wishful thinking (although I gather that this is still a popular residence for a great many people in the USA). The problems with rebuilding your harbours in Maine (or in Yorkshire where I live) are the least of the problems coming full-tilt down the track at us.

I'll put a quick modern science thing here just in case somebody interested browses past some year. It's that sea level change that's being measured with modern instruments since ~40 years ago and more so since 2002 isn't the coast thing that everybody except the few dozen of us humans who study think that it is. Scientists since ~40 years ago and more so since 2002 measure THE CHANGE IN THICKNESS OF BITS OF THE OCEAN ALL OVER THE OCEAN, MEASURE THE ACTUAL CHANGE IN ITS DEPTH FROM SURFACE TO SEA BED. This means of course that coasts rising or subsiding have nothing to do with this modern measurement method. Obviously, it's still very valuable to have the tide gauges around Earth at those tiny bits of the ocean where they meet the land because it's very similar to the real ocean thickness change when it's averaged for the whole planet and it allows coasts rising or subsiding to be calculated from the local ocean depth change by altimeter (separately from GRACE plus ARGO) and from tide gauges, then this can be compared by coasts rising or subsiding from land station distances by altimeters in orbit. So the multiple methods can all be compared with each other to find out how accurate it all is. So you can see how the local ocean depth change by altimeter (100 x 100 "pixels" grid) is compared with the entirely-separate from GRACE plus ARGO method (300 x 300 "pixels" grid) at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HIKgit9mszo.html at 42:50 for 2004 to 2016 plots showing the annual increase in average ocean thickness (average depth) measured by 2 ENTIRELY-DIFFERENT TYPES OF SETS OF INSTRUMENTS and compared with each other (also interesting pictorial bit at 40:16). For the comparison of these 2 methods with the global tide gauges method at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ol5MjIYvXs0.html at 9:44 (the distribution of increase or decrease in ocean thickness around Earth 1993-2022 in a pictorial at 11:30).

Unfortunately, John's "rates are tripling" is disinformation because he stated 20 cm/century just before so he's attempting to imply 60 cm/century but it's definitely 41 cm/century 2010-2022 and shorter time periods are meaningless because natural fluctuations i climate things. Not an Awful exaggeration but a person who claims to be sensible and dissemination science accurately for useful purposes shouldn't be exaggerating by John's 46% exaggeration. There's no need for it.

So one more foot of SLR by 2050 and 5-10 by 2100 (Richard Alley won't rule out 15 by 2100). After that it gets worse. So with sea level rising for centuries we don't know where to build new coastal cities and seaports and Naval facilities. It's a problem too big to manage, especially considering we'll be dealing with it in a weakened state from the disruption of agriculture; massive famines and economic decline.
@grindupBaker
@grindupBaker Год назад
"Richard Alley won't rule out" but according to Eric Rignot the maximum will be "more than 4 metres per century" after ALL the ~60 ice shelves (or some such there are) have gone and there's about ~55 of them left with no indication that many of them are going anywhere this century so to push 4.6 metres per century AFTER ALL the ~60 ice shelves have going to be Richard's 4.5 metres over the next 77 years you have is just making stuff up, saying anything to avoid saying anything useful. It's utterly worthless non information. With all due respect to Richard Alley "I can't rule out" is a statement "I've no idea" with word variations to exercise he vocal chords & strengthen lungs. The 4.6 metres per century is flowing (2,200 + 600) * 5.5 / 360 mm/year plus a tiny tad for thermal expansion. The 5.5 there is ~200 glaciers (or whatever it is) flowing, breaking & crumbling 6.5 times as fast as now on average. 6.5 TIMES AS FAST, ALL OF THEM, THAT'S MASSIVELY BIG STUFF in order to get 4.6 metres per century, not 4.6 metres per 77 years from a standing start mostly without the acceleration started yet.
