Hello dear professor Thank your so much for your help and advice,i really appreciate your job. I wish you hapiness and peace under the sky of prosperity. Take care and have a good time. All the best. Your Student from Algeria.
Hi Susanna, Thanks for your question. I would start with introductions, then ask them as a class to guess what my favourite hobby is. Give them some sample questions to get started, and say that I can only answer yes or no. Give clues if you have to, include pictures if appropriate. Eventually they will guess it's walking my dog! Then, get into pairs, interview each other and find out their partner's favourite hobby. After a few minutes, each person introduces their partner and their hobby to the class: "This is Roberto and his favourite hobby is ..." Then you could do a worksheet on hobbies or pastimes. There are lots of free ones here: en.islcollective.com/english-esl-worksheets/search/hobbies I hope that helps you get started. I have 30 instant lessons as part of our TEFL Starter Pack here: www.global-english.com/book-shop/tefl-products/a-teaching-english-online-starter-pack/ It includes a grammar guide and a booklet on teaching beginners - great value at £50 and I have used these lessons again and again and again - levels from Elementary to Intermediate with some for business English too... I hope that helps and enjoy your classes! Louisa
Hi Louisa , how would you structure a describing experiences it’s my first time teaching after completing my TEFL course. My student is B1/B2 level was thinking of structuring around holidays / restaurants
Hello Joe, Great question, thanks for asking. Actually you are half way there already, as you have identified a strong context for your lesson. These are popular topics and easily relatable for many learners. Here's a video I recorded on using the past tense on the theme of holidays, which looks like it might be a useful fit for what you propose to do: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DJ46GMyEo-g.html hope it's helpful - let me know how you get on! BW, Louisa
If it were me, I would use "If he were rich ..." It was probably knocked into me at a formative age. It would be helpful to know the level of the class not only here but wherever grammatical structures are taught..

Hello professor Thank you so much for your priceless advice and interesting guidance. I love your best method of teaching and excellent explanation. I really appreciate your job. I wish you peace and happiness under the sky of prosperity. Your follower from Algeria.
Nice video and suitable activities to teach and practice the Second Conditional. However, your response to the student's question, " if you were rich, what would you buy?" T: "I would buy a car." I think your response would have been; If I were rich, I would buy a car. In this way, the students will practice the structural form of the second conditional form. However, I love your activities because the students were able to practice the past+ based form of the second conditional.
Thanks, Cherry, I loved your video - especially the way you used animation, music and examples of how you have been successful already. Love the idea of pop-English as well! For further ideas, check out the playlist here if helpful: ru-vid.com/group/PL71ej6gAnqIICxiS2-oHk0kAhJGa-3JBN Good luck! Louisa
Hi James, it's 250 hours of TESOL training content, including video, tutor assessment and material. You can see the updated list of what is covered here: www.global-english.com/courses/tefl-tesol-courses-online/tesol-professional-course-250-hours/content/#content Best wishes, Louisa
The responses really bothered me, and I am not the best grammarian. "Was is sometimes used in very informal speech, but is not generally considered grammatically acceptable." I think some were confused by these because when one of the students switched and said "was" it threw the other respondents off. (Betty Schrampfer Azar grammar books rock!)
Hi Margarita, this is part of our Level 5 course, in the section on phonetics. Trainees have to chosen the correct transcription option within the course itself. www.global-english.com/courses/tefl-tesol-courses-online/tesol-professional-course-250-hours/
Hello, would it be possible for you to tell me how you can get the mouse pointer like that (the yellow circle)? Perfect for online lessons! Great video!
Hi, it's a neat trick, but unfortunately, not one that is currently possible in Zoom. We used Screencastomatic to record the video and when using this the yellow circle follows the mouse. It's useful for recording demos which you can upload, but not for using live. Sorry!
You can use a range of course books or online materials. There are several free sites, or you might check out this curriculum for beginners and online learners here: www.global-english.com/book-shop/
