Ummm it’s an all in one movement of my left hand -opening to the 1st pull in one motion. I probably have other videos with an inside view so you can see what my hand is doing.
Your video top up on my you tube wall, nice texture, lots of goods tips for an enthusiastic beginner, I've checked out your page and saved alot of your videos to watch at my leisure, your teaching style is good, explaining everything as your doing it, which is great for me. Thankyou 😊
Thanks Ana! Yeah 10 lbs is big for me, I worked my way up to it. So I threw some small pasta bowls, then medium pasta bowls, then larger bowls and platters and eventually the birdbaths. They’re now all trimmed and wrapped tight. Hopefully 1 will survive for my birds.
Great video on a fun technique! I learned that from (Can’t even guess at his name!) master Asian potter on RU-vid. I made several of his lidded jars, same basic technique. Nice job! Hope you sell those for enough to justify the time!
His name is Hsin-Chuen Lin he’s an amazing accomplished potter and tool maker. I love is work and his videos too. I don’t have pvc pipe cut up so I use what ever is handy. In this case empty wine bottles did the trick. I put a couple of short videos to show the completed altered pieces. We artists never get paid for our time put in. It’s a sad state of affairs but it’s just life. Glad you liked my video, thanks for watching.
It’s Coyote’s underglaze. They are really great, the colors don’t burn out, they don’t ever fuse to the shelf and they can be mixed to create new colors. It’s a win all the way around.
Every kiln has a different controller. You can download the manual for your kiln on Skutt’s website (if you have a Skutt) and the instructions to toggle on the controlled cool is in there. It’s a simple instruction to do and once it’s on it stays on.
@@sharongalbraith8481 Thanks for the reply. I have a skutt 8-22 and I found the section you describe in the manual. I am a visual learner , mainly because if I see what I'm reading in a video, I feel more confident I'm getting it right. Thanks again for your time
I actually uploaded the wrong version of this video. So now there’s 2 and the other one has the finished plates at the end of the video. I should probably delete this one.
