Hiya, community!

My name is Michael Sommer, and this is the English version of my channel "Sommers Weltliteratur to go". On that channel, I give you compact and entertaining to-go-versions of the works of world literature with the help of my Playmobil cast of actors. One by one, I will dub the German originals in English, thus making my videos available to the wider community. I don't always manage to stay within my time limit of ten minutes per video, but I try to balance out this shortcoming by intensive use of superficial humour.

I'm looking forward to getting your feedback, language and pronunciation corrections, or suggestions what work to do next - simply post it under "discussions" or underneath the videos.

More information about myself you find on my webpage www.mwsommer.de, there's other texts and contact details there as well - I will provide an English version of the webpage shortly.

Have fun!

I swear I was listening to the audiobook, and everything was fine, and then I blinked and Mephisto is talking with Moiras and Faust really wants to bang Helena of Troy. So now I'm left frantically searching for a recap of the second part

It’s not a livable life, she wrote the book, because the experience partly related to her own life, why the hell people trying to imitate others’ pain? Do you any idea the immense pain and discrimination that Eileen Chang had suffered throughout her own life? I’m speak of my own. First of all, the waterless flood, or the ocean of pig, that is you, Mr. Dick. The capitalism, matriarchal families heavily rely on emotional bond, which is quite contradicted of capitalism, which is you Mr. Limp. The public education is so horrible. Yes, you could pretend you’re a pig, the mental effect of the pretense is horrible, and you could still be bullied, that is why so many queer teenagers killed themselves before 20. I don’t know those matriarchal families who has had high education and enough money, I’m writing my own past life, meager money and wounded mentality from caretakers, how could that mental pillar more toxic than the shining plasticity from capitalism, people could seal their hemorrhage live numbly all their life. The biggest emotion isn’t loneliness, its still about men, and the hurt from the world. Yes, Pilot and Reba could live their life, it’s not fair for Hagar. Pilot didn’t have choice, but every Hagar born into this world with that kind of illiteracy, how could they avoid Milkman? With what? The papery strength from the shitty world? Just so many pigs. Seriously, and if people with high moral standards make those poor women be their experimental mice, what difference between them and the outside pigs

Lovely! We thank you for this funny and marvellous abbreviation and densification of the tragedy`s first part. :) Danke schön! `FAUST` by JOHANN WOLFGANG GOETHE is one of the greatest poetic and philosophical works of whole mankind. By the way: If you want to read `Faust` (part I and II) by GOETHE in an English translation (there are many ones), then I highly recommend the translation "by" Walter Arndt including interpretive notes and much more, an edition which appeared at Norton & Company publishing. It is very close to the German-language original in terms of content and faithfulness to the words and manages to convey simultaneously rhythm and rhyme (with the latter two, especially rhyme, being less important). As - with respect to the original - nearness and mirror-image-ness is all what translation is about, do always look out for good and very good translations (a mediocre or bad one would be, by terms, a contradiction within itself) when it comes to studying world-literature or reading literature in general. You ask why I put `by` in quotation marks above ("by" Walter Arndt)? Because ORIGINAL and NON-ORIGINAL, lingual ORIGINAL and lingual TRANSLATION are a UNITY. My definition of `Übersetzung` / `translation`: "Eine Übersetzung ist jene Sprache, die ein transformiertes Spiegelbild einer anderen Sprache ist." / "A translation is that language which is a transformed mirror image of another language." Each of the two terms - original and translation - implicates, unspoken, its opposite. They can never be divided. They are Yin and Yang and Yin/Yang. A lingual original and all of its translations in all other languages, pre-existing as ideas within the original itself, are a unity. A translation is given with the original, through the original and within the original. So, that means: The originator of a linguistic original is, at once, the originator of all (ideal) translations of this original in all other languages. (He is not due to his own abilities and due to his own performance but because of the universal law that a linguistic original and all of its translations in all other languages, pre-existing within the original as ideas, are a unity, and that every translation is given with the original, through the original and in the original.) If someone speaks in a concrete, specific language, he speaks at once in all languages at the same time. Okay? Very simple... Translation as a process, i.e. the translating or transferring of a linguistic phenomenon from one concrete specific language into a linguistic phenomenon of another concrete specific language, is primarily and in principle not a creative process but a manifesting of what is already given, namely the translation pre-existing as an idea within the original. A translation is not the result of translating, but it is just vice versa: the translation initiates the translating, it brings the translating on its way. Translating is a giving-out of the given. A translator outputs, a translator gives out what is already given to him (namely the translation). So, if you are taking a book from your shelves, a book which contains a translation of any language: which name will you read on the cover in fat printed letters? Of course, the name of the author of the original. And right so! If you ask, for example, a person in Germany or in France or in Japan: "Who is the author of `Harry Potter`?" - then you know the answer. And my answer would also be or is, respectively: "Joanne K. Rowling". And I´ve read the Harry Potter - books in German translation... If you`re really interested in great literature, then read both parts of `FAUST` by GOETHE (in original German language or in a good or very good translation). Study it, slowly and intensely, and let it infuse your life. This poetic and philosophical, inexhaustible masterpiece belongs to the most supreme of culture that you can ever experience - like, for example, the divine musical works of Johann Sebastian Bach or the timeless dramas of William Shakepeare, and so on. It transcends by far everything that is merely earthly and wordly. Alle Sprachen sind eins in der Sprache. / All languages are one within language. / Toutes les langues ne font qu'une dans la langue. Grüße aus Deutschland / Greetings from Germany / Salutations d`Allemagne Michael Hontheim

Lego did a better job than doing a Hollywood Movie. LOL I am Natalie Helferty The Name of the Rose The Holy Grail. One Day the Knights like Umberto Eco will know Me. We have met under Evil Spirit Memory Blocks. The Title of his book does not have a story about Me nor any Knight or the King. The Evil Spirit of Mussolini wrote the book through Umberto Eco. I as Hollywood Royal did not read the book to do a Movie. The Sean Connery and River Phoenix Movie was by the same Evil Spirit of Mussolini and Batabrutto as Mobsters of Italy. They are both dead along with the Mountbatten Monarchy they worked for who has been running a War against Us as God's Royalty since 1609. The really ugly men in the movie were made by the Evil Spirit in the Papacy of Rome. They were controlled by the Evil Spirit in Italy for 10 days to make a mockery of the Papacy of Rome by drawing jackasses and monkeys on the biblical scrolls to show they are not real saints. God let the Evil Spirit do so as it was a truth telling of the Papacy of Rome as the Pope John Paul II was in power to run a money racket for Elizabeth II to get tithing as a standard way of getting cash to her for sundry items in England. She bought gift baskets for her staff instead of paying them as all the tax money coming in was used to pay for the war against Us as Hollywood Royals. They typical Hit on Us was to do damage to the vehicle we drove by running into us with a tractor trailor when the car was parked. 55 Knights had their car damaged. The King did not. My Driver's Car was damaged too as I am the Queen. The other damage was by a screwdriver puncture of the radiator. That happened to my bosses car that I worked for as a family friend. It was an Italian Mobster who did the damage who was Batabrutto who was using the name Musso to avoid getting caught as he was a known Mobster as a Developer. The Musso Family was only brothers who were really mad that Batabrutto used their name when caught by Police. The Tractor Trailer Driver was Fred who used the name Degasperis a Known Italian Mobster as Developer and he also was angry at Fred of Britain using his name when the Tractor Trailer was stopped by Police. The damage was a Sideswipe as a Threat on the Lives of the Knights according to Police and so they told the Knights to kill Fred if they saw him. 5 Knights did and Fred was created again in a second and tried to hit the Knights on the hrad with a ballpeen hammer. The Knights got a helmet from Me through God by a thought here now. The thought of a helmet was to be a helpful way of getting a War to be openly known to the Knights. They understood that a War was real against them as they talked to Police who said that Mussolini was targetting them as Knights. The Hollywood Royals were always targetted by Italian Mob. I have the same problem with the Italians who think they can con Me as the Queen. My driver is Italian who talked to Batabrutto in Italian to get him to back off a hit against Me in Old Omtrral in 2008. So some Italians are okay. They can defend Me. Other times they are Made by the Evil Spirit to hit Me on the head to kill Me. I have experienced both by My Driver Marco Prosdocimo as a friend. He is a tough one to know if he will be a friend or foe for the past 23 years I have known him. He is a Clone and was here today to put up mu Christmas Lights. I dont get visits or help from the King or the Knights unfortunately. They are not understanding who I am as the Queen as the Holy Grail Natalie Helferty. The Knights are friendly when We meet but largely ignore their Mandate to be My Support System. What to do What to do. Christ knows. I will have to trust God as Christ the Creator as God of Love with Me Natalie Helferty the Rose 🌹
