Hey @Channel Makers. Thank you for the recommend. I, myself, am a beginner RU-vid channel. My RU-vid channel name is @GeekGhostGamerTop and my RU-vid channel thumbnails I did for a couple of my review and preview video I did in the past 35 days are a bit of a touch-and-go pickle. At tines, I would do the best thumbnails, and sometimes, not so much. And I am watching this video explainer on thumbnails. I need a bit of guidance on perfecting a eyecatcher thumbnail. My niche is covering everything geek (video games, anime, cartoons, movies). So, I am in a problem that needs a solution. And how to get my audience (and more people for my audience) to grow, and invest in my RU-vid channel. Any form of assistance will be appreciative 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Newsy thumbnails stand out to some people, but to a lot of us we see them so often and they make every story look so urgent that we train ourselves to skip over them. It's a good lesson that what stands out to you might not stand out to your audience.
It was definitely an interesting approach. I like the way that they get the viewer’s attention, and I’m always looking to experiment with new techniques.

It is NOT easy. RU-vid is full of liars. And, why would someone impose their experience in getting 1000 subs and 4000 WH to others. MOST will not reach 4000 WH EASILY.
only have about 30 hours. Game industry 3D artist for 12 years at Activision and EA. Started my own company designing and making designer toys for clients. I really want my channel to show others what we do and how we can help others learn how to do the same. I don't have anything good on my channel yet, but hopefully soon...and hopefully people will like it and subscribe. Really appreciate this video and all eh great tips. Thank you!
Channel makers doesn’t pay for visibility ever. But if you honestly believe you have to pay to get views you’ll never have enough belief in yourself to succeed at this.
I have a fishing channel that I started during the pandemic. I have consistently only put out 1 video per year. 3 years later I was only at 3 videos published with 916 subscribers and only 360 hours of watch time. I posted a new video 5 days ago and it blew up and had given me 870 watch hours and 124 new subscribers in less than a week. I now have 1.1k subscribers and only need roughly 3000 more watch hours in the next 11 months. Hopefully I can put out a couple more videos that hit just as well as this one.
Sound effects, changing camera angles, music, talking fast or too loud, acting excited, thumb nails with mouth open, those boop noises...all make me leave a video 😂
Just Posted My First Video Yesterday and I thank Channel makers being there the whole time. I hope I can start leveraging the channel to make some money.
I think it requires around 5~10k views PER thumbnail in order to come to a pretty accurate decision. Any views below that is inconsistent, due to a small sample size--percentage is not that trustworthy. So if you test 3 thumbnails for instance, you would need 15~30k views in total in order to accurately determine which thumbnail to go to. I tried to upload 3 exact thumbnails and after each thumbnails got around 2k views, 2 got like 37% WT and the last one got 27% WT. Considering they were exactly the same, they should be the same, right? No, it wasn't, due to a lack of sample size. Around 5k views per thumbnail, the gaps started to close, and they were within 1.5% range. I'm currently still running the test on one of my videos, and now each thumbnails got over 10k+ views. Now, they're sitting at 32.9%, 33.5%, and 33.6%.
Cost was less than $300 for the whole month. It’s within rounding error of $97,000 in net profit for the month. Cost doesn’t need to be a limiting factor to do exactly what I did here.
