I only recently heard this song and never heard it or anything like his music before. I’m 50 so a long time to go thru life missing out on what I can only describe is magical enchanting songs.
Horrible losing John,Joe Bussard,ED Denson,Manny Greenhill! My frat bro, fellow Eagle Scout Bash,Theron Bradley,Capt. George Gomm, nothing to hold this country together. Graveyard owners behind this social attack. You' re certainly brighter than Dumb Dylan and know that I am a competent neurobiologist, molecular geneticist and created 3 recent photographic essays designed to make the body publisher. Should have Kris Kristofferson's kid kick the crap out of Dylan and Trump if they dont get these masterpieces Published Soon. Who will pick up the Pieces then?
I discovered him on RU-vid last summer. Original talent of incredible skill and depth. No one like him, but also glad to have discovered Nick Drake, the Van Gogh of modern music, and Sixto Rodriguez, from Detroit of all places, and Karen Dalton, who was only recently discovered though she made a few albums in the seventies. One of her great songs, something on your mind, was written by her acquaintance, Dino Valenti , once the singer of the incomparable San Francisco band, Quick Silver. I should not forget to mention Jackson Frank, who made one album in mid sixties...a masterpiece. Strange to think that all these people could have met, as all had a connection to New York City.
This is clearly mostly improvised, you can tell he's hitting notes not in tune with the guitar or vice versa and he makes it work. Those dissonant moments are the most haunting. 2:51 to 3:05
Strangely I saw a thread on one of the twilight peaks videos where people are saying the like the album because it’s instrumental and they can’t stand Robbie’s voice. I find this really bizarre … his voice is so much a part of it all.
@@BazookaTooth707 I have thought the exact same thing! I love Slim Whitman and listen to those songs frequently. My grandfather had a recording studio and was a recording engineer, and he recorded some early Slim Whitman songs, but not those.
